#37Jets -2.5 here
How is Miami going to score more than 10 points unless they score on defense/special teams? Jets have allowed three touchdowns all year, including 0 vs. Texans and Patriots and 1 vs. Saints.Comment -

#42ITs monday night football and let's face it, the Jets offense is Average. Dolphins defense is good against the run and they'll force Sanchez to win this game. Their secondary does suck, so the jets should be able to get a couple drives, but i don't expect them to move it consistently. As far as the dolphins go, I'd be suprised if they put up more than 13 points, they're definitely gonna have to make plays on defense special teams, but the crowd and defense are gonna be key in this game.Comment -

#44'cept for Baltimore and Houston, every team with the better power ranking of more than 1 against their opponent won this week.. not all covered, but all won..
now I have NYJ power ranking of 6, and Miami as 19. Guess who wins this one? hehe
now covering 3 is not a big deal.. so I am going with the Jets on this one.. square as it may be.. this week, squares are up BIG..

#45remember that Rex Ryan as def coach of the ravens held the wildcat offense 123 yds on 47 rushes last year. Miami only put up 22 pts on Bal D last year.
this line is going haywire. It was at Jets -3 this morning went all they way down to -1 at 1 pm and now is back up to -3 at 3:15 pmComment -

#48Public is out of control "in love" with Sanchez and coach Ryan..
What has Sanchez done? 112-146-137 py vs. NO, Tenn, NE.
Jets were pounded by an overrated NO team that does not really have good "D", Jets beat a BAD Tenn squad, and an out of sync NE team at home w/ Brady still not back in full stride.
Jets have DB's with injury problems.
Miami held great Indy squad until the very end, desparate but stong "D" and who TF says Sanchez is any better than Chad Henne?
Monday night home division dog with a good "D" and running game.
80+ degrees, Jets will be cramping up in 3rd quarter.

Miami still held Colts until the very end.
Where we really disagree would be that I say Indy is better than the Jets (Manning vs.Sanchez!!).
Go ahead, take unproven rookie QB vs home division Monday night dog with good "D" and good running game, and 80+ degrees.Comment -

#52Jets vs. Dolphins... dont over analyze
Do you think Rex Ryan has never seen the wildcat? The cat is out of the bag and only a very bad team like the Bills could lose to these dolphins. Sanchez and the Jets are going to open it up tonight.. (just like I predicted the Falcons would do against Niners).. There is no reason for the Jets to play a ball-controlled punt fest with the Phins. They're way more talented and they plan to show the world tonight. If you got the Jets better than (-3) you're looking good but I dont think it will matter. The Jets only loss was to a very good Saints team on the road.. (It was closer then final score shows).. while the Dolphins only win was against a bad Bills team. People will say all the "squares" are on the Jets but the ONLY reason this Line is so small is the fear of the wildcat controlling the clock and Keeping the score close.. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN!! The Jets are not the Colts.. they CAN stop the RUN.. this leaves the Dolphins hopes in Chad Henne's hands... This game will be Over by the end of the third Quarter.. taking the Jets on an alternate line of about -7 is a very good idea tonight..

#53there is so much talk about the WILDCATS BS. If it was working, they won't be 1-3. If it is "all that", every team in the country would be running it. Is it a trap? Maybe, but I ain't putting a penny on the worthless fins. I went square with the Colts last night, and will be square again tonight. The chip will falls where it may. Good luck y'all.Comment -

#56Okay so Ryan played the wildcat in a playoff game last year where the Dolphins moved the ball all day long against the Ravens except Chad kept throwing picks right in Bal zone everytime. Chad was 25-38 for 252 yards(not bad) but he threw 3 or 4 picks. The problem was that they couldnt run the ball. 16 carries for 36 yards. Tonite the dolphins will be a lot more conservative. The only problem is that you cant run the ball on the jets. The jets offense is shit as well. Sanchez is heading into that phase where teams are starting to figure him out. Play the UNDERComment -

Sanchez had 112 passing yards against Saints, so, "got killed", 24-10. If he had 275 yds (whatever) passing, you would have an argument.Comment -

#61Some thoughts on tonights game,
- the public is on the Jets for good reason, they're a much better football team
- the Jets are more balanced and more talented than Miami in nearly every facet of the game
- Miami with Penington is a competitive 8-8 team, not great, but competitive
- people tend to forget how good of a QB Chad Penington has been, he's one of the most accurate passers and best game managers in recent history! That's a big loss, my friends.
- the Jets are talented enough to man up against Miami's WR's
- Miami has yet to play a stout defense that can tackle, nor have they played a team with a solid running game. SD, IND, ATL, & BUF are all mediocre at best if not out right soft defensively and not one of those teams runs the ball very well.
- Miami is not the crazy atmosphere people are making it out to be, nor is their fan base what it used to be. The demographics of that city and surrounding area have changed faster in the last 10-20 years than any other city on the east coast. Hispanics, generally speaking, don't give a s*** about American football.
- Public fade? Why is everyone on this forum so f***ing focused on who the public likes? Who gives a s***? Break down the game yourself and make the strongest pick you can from there. Never bet on inferior teams just because 80-90 percent of the public is on the favorite. If you truly like the dog bet them, but not just to fade the public, that's idiotic and insane.
- In order for Miami to win tonight, they need several things to happen. They must win the turnover battle, they must run all over the Jets front seven, they must tackle better in the open field, they cant let up the big play, they have to play great on special teams, and they cant give the Jets a short field. Tall order!Comment -

The idea of "fading the public" is the single dumbest thing I have ever heard. Essentially what you are saying is that because the vast majority of the country thinks one team is stronger, you are going to take the other team. WHY?! The only advantage to this kind of thinking is that when you get lucky you get to brag some. Who cares? I much rather have the cash in my pocket. Jets win big tonight.Comment -

#64Yes, the Jets are 3-1...Yes the Dolphins are 1-3.
The Jets barely beat Tennessee at home (2 muffed returns and Tenn probably wins...and they are PUTRID). They beat a bad Houston team on the road. And they beat the Pats at home (decent win). The Dolphins CRUSHED the Bills last week in Miami. They narrowly lost to Indy who they shut down and Indy are probably the best offense in the NFL right now. They played Atlanta close in Atlanta who are a really good team and they lost to San Diego out west.
Miami at night is tough to deal with - high humidity, high temperature. It'll be 80 degrees and 80% humidity at kickoff...it barely got to 50 in NY today!
Not saying they will win, but if this game is played 10 times - Miami wins 6/10...therefore the ML is the play for me.
Also like the under. Ball control + Good defense on both sides.

It is about electrolytes.
When you have been in NY for months and you travel to Miami on Sunday for a Monnday game and it is 85 degrees many players will get tired and even cramp up whereas the players who have been there do not as often, their bodies have adjusted. Happens every year. Look at the Oklahoma vs. Miami college game this yr... Oklahoma folded like a cheap lawnchair. You can do some maintenance hydration and electrolyte IV therapy but it only helps a little.
