I don't know that I could live here for $40 a day. I mean mortgage, electric, water, hydro, gas, it all adds up to more than $40 a day.
If I can eat and stay for $20 bucks a day and leave myself another $20 to play with I feel I am ahead of the game.
    Thanks for the well-wishes.

TSA took all my shampoo & body wash & tooth paste.
Gonna have to buy all that & razors & shaving cream.
I knew the airports charged alot cause they figure you're stuck there but $11 for a pint & $15 for a burger & fries?
    Redonkulous!

Hotels' not as bad as I thought it would be, so far. Might do more sleeping than playing tonight 'cause of all the travel.

    Balance: $2420

    razors,shaving cream,shampoo,body wash,tooth brush,tooth paste $18
    Airport beer $11
    Airport food $17
    Cab from Airport $26
Room deposit $100 (refunded when I check out)

    Balance: $2248

Time to try & make some of these expenses back! Gonna check the sched for today & lay a few bets at the Wynn Sportsbook.
I'll be checking out how much they charge to hold onto $500 for me. Still have to get used to the idea that everything starts 3 hours earlier here!

    Jesus...Everyone's gonna be here!
If you see a tall thin donk who looks like Jim Carey, losing all his cash at the Wynn today, that''l be me.
Feel free to say hi if I'm not too drunk.
Speaking of Jim Carey, I just received an e-mail from my Dad saying that Jim Carey is actually at the Paris for the opening of his new new movie.
You'll notice that there is no expense accounted for the flight. In his usual generous fashion my Father actually paid for my flight.
I'd be well below $2 Grand right now if I had to come up with that cash on my own.
Anyway, I'll be back later, hopefully with a more favourable balance update!

    Palazzo Roulette $40LOSS

    Balance: $2253.50

Shaving Cream, razor, Shampoo, Body Wash, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste. -$18
    Liquor & mix -$29

    Balance: $2206.50

Not a very good 1st 1/2 of the day but, alot of those expenses are not going to be daily expenses. Well, maybe liquor for the room but, besides that the toiletries should hast for a couple of weeks. Still not a very profitable day but, I'm still trying to find my way around town to see which books offer the best beverage service & best Tourneys.
The MGM has Daily $80 Buy ins (no Rebuys) 200 players max. $20 administration (seems a little high)
Planet Hollywood has Dailys as well ($70 buy in) at 10:00, 1:00, 4:00 & 7:00, with the same rake. March 27th - March 31st is called "Poker on the Mezz & buy-ins range from $65 -$100. (Guaranteed payouts of $1,000.00, $2,000.00 & $3,000.00)
    The Mirage has $50 buy ins at 2:00 & 10:00 with a $10 admin & 11:00 & 7:00 dailys that are $60 buy ins with $10 admin.
    Caesars has 2 dailys for $70 at 9:00 & 4:00 with $20 admin (heavy) & 2 dailys for $110 at noon & 7:00 with $30 admin (too heavy).
    They also run "Hoops & Holdem" from the 20th - 8th but, they're all $100+$30 buyins, some are $200 & $300.

What I'm most interested in are the Tournaments run at the Monte Carlo. Every day at 9:00 they have $50 buy ins, on Wednesdays its $10 extra cause there's Bountys.
You can only re-buy for the 1st hour.
Here's what hooked me though, if I get 25 playing hours in by March 30th (my Birthday) I can play in a freeroll for $18,000.00. ($100 in Tourney chips for every hour you play over 25). Starting chips $2,500.00. The Poker Room host told me that they pay 36 spots & here's the kicker. So far this year, they have had less than 70 players in each of the Freeroll Tourneys. So, No one else sign up for this!
Also, in the freeroll, the 1st set of Kings or Aces that get cracked receive $100.

Gonna try to log some hours in the poker room at the Monte Carlo this week!

What really could have helped you on thr adventure is doing it with a pal. Split hotel costs would save you a ton long-term. Also less chance you go AWOL if you start to slide.. would keep your morale up as well as interest/discipline.

More concerned with the discipline right now. Money Management has never been my strong point.
Watched the Wyoming/NM game at Planet Hollywood tonight...
Took the over for $22 & that over parlayed with The Red Wings for $5.
    LOST BOTH
D2D cost me a nights stay with that Lobos/Cowboys over
No biggie I know he's gonna come through with a hockey lock for me tomorrow night

I know it's been almost 2 years since I've been here but since when do you have to bet a hundred phuckin' dollars to get one free phuckin' beer at Planet Hollywood? Are you kidding me?
I spent $21 on 3 beers before I realized that Planet Hollywood was now my least favourite sportsbook.
The only reason I actually paid that much was because it looked like I was gonna hit the Cowboys over at 1/2 time.
    Anyway.
Gonna drink in the room & try to get up for the $50 at Monte Carlo at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
Where the hell can I find Canadian cigarettes?????
Seriously, been to 7/11, CVS, Wallgreens, smoke shops......can't find 'em anywhere.
    Probably for the better.

Killawookie, I have a friend coming to meet me this Friday. Unfortunately he's staying with me for free 'cause I've already paid for the room.

It was so hard to not spend the cash to see the 1st 4 sessions of the PAC12 today. What an atmosphere!
No offence to any Canadian college basketball players (cause I was one too) but, when the best Canadian basketball teams would lose to the worst Div III U.S. college teams, you really learn to appreciate N.C.A.A. Ball. Let's be honest, there are High School teams in Ohio & California that could beat the best Canadian University teams.

Anyway, my new dilemma is that Nate Diaz has been my favourite Ultimate fighter but being from Canada, I know here is no better pound for pound MMA fighter than GSP. Don't know what I am gonna take this weekend but I know I am gonna be watching it.
What makes this even harder is that he's a 5 to 1 favourite.
    Need some advice.

I ordered the exact same thing at McDonald's near the Vanietan that I ordered at the McDonald's at MGM Grand but this time it was $4.36.

    Interesting.

Don't play the Roulette that has both the 0 and 00.
    You shouldn't be playing Roulette.
Blackjack has the least House Edge compared to the other casino games. Slots has the most House Edge.
    Forget Casino games.
NL Texas Holdem Poker and Sportsbooks are the only gambling games that are profitable.

GSP has the advantage no matter where the fight is imo. But I honestly think that GSP has no problem in gettin this fight to the ground and absolutely dominating. -500 is Discusting though. GSP could be a parlay filler for you? I honesty don't see him losing. Diaz brothers do not bode well with wrestlers. I like Ellenberger -165 the best for the rest of the card.

Good luck Jay. Should have stayed at a homeless shelter and saved the money being spent on a room. $20 bets and McD's will not make for a fun or profitable Vegas trip. Go meet up with FH. At the very least he can tell you which bars throw out the most leftover chicken wings and how to find +ev vp machines when you factor in the value of the free hamburger and spice rack they will give you on a promo.

Well, i Kinda feel like I saved money yesterday in the Bally's sporstsbook by staying away from them at -14. I have stated here in the forums before that "My favourite team is the team that made me the most money during the previous week. This is still true but, living an hour away from The Carrier Dome makes it a little hard to deny that I love that city & I love that team. But, c'mon what's wrong with these guys lately. 0-17 FG at crucial points of the game and going stretches where they shoot 2 for 22 ? Triche has turned the ball over more in the last 6 games than I think he has in his career. I'm gonna be cheering for them hard today but if Carter-Williams plays like he has this March I don't think they have a hope in hell to contend with the Panthers. Unless Sutherland plays like he did from the arc yesterday vs. the Pirates.
That being said I KNOW I am gonna lay some $ on the Orange & end up regretting it.

Great post, I couldn't agree more. I am actually repeating this advice to myself while I am doing the opposite.
But, you're right & I couldn't have said it better. I will try to keep this in mind.

Wasn't gonna bother to respond to this but, I have to disagree. If April rolls around & I have $2,701, I have realized a profit & at the risk of sounding immodest, I'm having more than I have had in 10-20 years.
    Who the hell is FH?
Not so interested in having wings thrown at me as I am having beer & alcohol thrown my way!
Thanks for the genuine words of advice though.
