#37I don't care how you go about getting out of this, but you should not live under the delusion that you are a winning gambler done in by bad money management. Long winning streaks followed by inevitable disaster is exactly what you get with a chasing mentality. Don't credit your winning streak to good handicapping and your downfall to bad money management. They are both the result of your betting style.
The reasoning behind your MLB picks written in this thread will not lead to +EV bets. In fact, I'd be surprised if they don't have expectancies worse than the vig. I'm not trying to shame you. You're 20. You're not supposed to know what you're doing.
Best of luck, though. As previously stated, you've got a much better chance going for a big parlay than trying to grind.Comment -

#38Again, as somebody who's been down this road before, you are only asking for more trouble. It will reach a point where you have nobody willing to help you in any aspect of your life. I would stop chasing immediately and do some manual labor/work/exercise, anything to keep you active and your mind on other things.Comment -

Originally posted by xstudThe following should be better ideas than gambling to earn money.
1. Pawn items
2. Apply for a personal loan (not sure how your credit is but some banks/credit unions will easily give 2k+ loans to people)
3. Donate Plasma (sounds dumb I know but this is an extra 250.00+ a month and it also helps people)
Most importantly, create a budget and stick to it to prevent this from happening again. I like anyone here hope you do not lose and hope you come out a winner but reckless behavior can ruin people and lives.
Best of luck and keep your head up.
You could also just flee the city/state/country.Comment -

#46Hi Givemeabj,
Listen my friend.
I'm a bookie myself. I would just like to say look at all the people you have disrespected including yourself. By saying that your friend you grew up with won't harm you shows you are out of hand, why?? Do you believe he would have booked those bets if you would have said, hey listen, if I win pay me, if I lose I really don't have the money, I'm just doing this for a long shot. Be careful you will get your tit in a ringer and someone will hurt you if you screw the wrong people.
Best of wishesComment -

#48Online casinos kill. Speaking from experience. I was ignorant about how they are rigged, thought the odds would only be a little worse than live casinos. I won a lot of money from them at first, but then lost it all back and then some. Then I only did multiplayer blackjack and that worked well for a while, but the more you play, the worse off you end up.
Haven't gone back to one in months and my roll is much better off for it. I would only go back to multiplayer blackjack if I was rich and even then I'd only use .05% of any bankroll and just play for fun.Comment -

#49Originally posted by tullamoreYou owe people $5410 and you made all these bets. Where did you get the money to make these bets, are they all on credit? If you had this money offshore, you should withdraw and settle up your debts. I dont know where you live, but I work as a chef and I will hire anyone to come in and wash dishes a few nights a week. Not the greatest job, but you get a free meal, and some money, might help you get back on your feet.Comment -

#50I know. I am young and done. I know I may be ****ing some people over here but in the end my debts will get paid. It may take time but they will get paid. This is the only night I will be making plays this big. If this night is -$2,000 or more I am out. Done, come clean to my bookie and work out a plan. Also probably start selling some mj here and there to make a few hundred extra. If this night is a big night then I can go back to my normal size betting hoping to grind out of this. The facts are I have posted winning seasons elsewhere, I know I can win. I know my betting style may have been a result of the hot streak getting extended but when I am winning I am much more patient and much more calm.
I feel like some of you think I made this thread for attention. In reality I am just hoping to have a good night tonight and use this thread so I can write up games which helps me think my bets out a little more as well as keeping my emotions in check. This thread hopefully keeps me with a level head and all the support and advice has been great. The reality is I live in the rich suburbs of NJ and have a high paying job awaiting my graduation. This debt won't last and as long as I don't let this gambling effect me when I graduate then I should have a successful life.
BTW I never rarely bet big favorites. This is not the way I plan to win that money back.Comment -

If he wins tonight he wont learn his lesson.
I hope you lose tonight and have to face reality (without broken bones or any kind of physical damage). You are only 20 this is not the path you want to be heading down, because later on youre going to screw yourself even more. Tell your parents, get a job and get out the situation. Move on with your life without having to worry.Comment -

Again, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to give you some reality. I know you see a lot of people in here that think they can, but you're not going use casual sports knowledge and reason to successfully find +EV plays and win long term. If you really think it's your destiny to be a handicapper, study the math, learn regression analysis, become proficient with a programming language, run sims, do something that separates you from what every joe schmoe is doing.
If you're not ready for that, and just want to be in the business, start bonus whoring, arbing, or other market-based approaches.
Quit gambling, though. Seriously, that's much better advice.
Again, best of luck, whatever you do.Comment -

The Indians/Baltimore went under.
And the Mets just scored 2 in the 9th to take the lead over the Marlins.
This kid didn't just lose. He got crushed. Anyone think he will ever post again?
