#36Taylor took less money to sign with the Jets. Didn't like how he lost the starting job to Devito last yearComment -

#39I'm hearing from reliable sources from The Athletic that the Ravens are considering Danny as an insurance backup policy for Jackson.
That's the perfect landing spot for Jones. Baltimore is loaded with fine coaching.
The same reliable sources say the Niners and Vikings might be interested, and the Raiders are considering taking on Jones as a 'bridge starter'.
Meanwhile Daboll is in deep doo, like he's in really deep shit.

#41I could see that happening...let's be honest, certain teams are so dysfunctional some of these young QBs do not even have a chance to succeed.Originally posted by ChuckyTheGoatWhat if this guy rebounds...and it turns out that he was good all along?
Jones made a great choice signing with the Vikings and O'Connell....I was thinking the other day he would be smart to sign with a team with a head coach that has a track record of grooming QBS(Vikings, Chiefs, 49ers). Anyhow, maybe O"connell can get him right. I do not think Jones will ever be a top end QB but wouldn't be shocked if he became a starter again down the line somewhere.Comment -

#42Hi, Jake. I'm a firm believer in a "good QB room."
By that I mean the backup has to be ready to go in at a moment's notice. QB handles the ball every play, so their impact on the game is dis-proportional. A lot of film-study and preparation.
Darnold won't feel threatened for his job. But there's a chance that Jones could bring a veteran view to the QB room. Just my two cents.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#43Darnold is playing on a 1 year contract. Free agent after the season. With McCarthy back next year, the Vikings would not resign Darnold for the huge amount he will get after this years performance. That makes Jones a perfect fit as a backup next year. He helps the rookie and steps in if the kid isn't ready. Smart move IMO.Originally posted by ChuckyTheGoatHi, Jake. I'm a firm believer in a "good QB room."

#45Danny had to get out of NY, NYG (my favorite team and always will be, I'm loyal to them) right now is a big steaming pile of shit from the top on down.Originally posted by ChuckyTheGoatHi, Jake. I'm a firm believer in a "good QB room."

Daboll is history, Daboll is a hot head, he lost the locker room.
The locker room loved Danny so much they laid down to the Bucs, the team quit on organization, and I don't blame them.
Jones had no blocking for four years, no standout wide receivers and a healthy Barkley for two years.
I love the kid, everything about him, he was set up to fail.
Just my observation, Danny is very tall, he's a tad awkward.
Know this and know this well, the kid can take a hit, he's tough as nails.Comment -

#47Nasher,
Yeah, Tall guys on a fast break can get ugly.
Did you ever do that trying to leg out a double or even worse trying to get home from 2nd base with those catchers thighs of yours ?
Yeah, I did too. I think more than once. And I wasn't tall. Hahaha

Yep, these catchers' thighs now need hip surgery after the New Year but that's another story for another day.
I'm only 5'8 178lbs, I'm a fireplug, and I'm breaking down, guys like Danny, 6' 6" breakdown much quicker.Comment -

#51Im not a Giants fan but Jones took you guys for a ride. The amount you paid him due to one cinderella run in 2022.Originally posted by stevenashTommy "Cutlets" DeVito is starting.
Danny asked for his release rather than wait until the end of the season.
This was a bullshit move by benching him rather than risk paying the injury clause in his contract.
As a lifelong Giants fan this leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth.
Classless act from a once very classy organization.
Beyond classless.Comment -

That's why they overpaid Danny, they really expected the next Eli.
That didn't work out, I still love the kid.Comment
