NFL executive Troy Vincent on a call says while he was in constant communication with those involved, "Neither coach was talking about resuming play, the players weren't. ... It was really about Damar. ... How do you resume play after you've seen such a traumatic event?"

As for the 5-minute warmup that was discussed during the broadcast, NFL executive Troy Vincent says, "I'm not sure where that came from. ... That's insensitive." Says the only focus was on the players and making sure they were OK.

This is a suspended game and not a postponed game for you rookies. Postponed means refund. Suspended means continue on at some point with same clock and same score. Books aren't supposed to be refunding people for suspended game wagers. Perhaps, if a certain amount of time goes by they will if it doesn't get finished relatively quickly.

Lions Mike Utley was paralyzed on the field. I was AT that game. They rushed him to the hospital, etc. They played the rest of that game. Times have changed. Same year I think Erik Andolsek died mowing his lawn getting hit by a car. That's 2 offensive linemen the Leo's lost and I would honestly say that team with those 2 linemen were Super Bowl Bound with Barry Sanders so young.

They had a very good OL get lost rather quickly.

Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.

different books have different rules but almost all of them say the same thing whether it's "suspended" or "postponed"

heritage Any postponed, suspended, or rescheduled events will be considered no action.
betonline says if it doesn't go 55 minutes THAT DAY then it is no action
jazz same as betonline/heritage

that's gonna be tough since pretty much all the bills players went back to buffalo

everyone is so soft i'm guessing they will just call it a tie, or "no game"... in the past you might have had a tough guy coach on the bengals that would say "play or forfeit" (even last night) but those days are long gone

next thing you know, if someone in the crowd chokes on a piece of popcorn the game will be suspended... i know that's an exaggeration but show must go on

I totally understand what you are saying. However with Commitio Cordis it's not the amount of blunt force trauma inflicted to the victim. It has more to do with what stage the heart is in when the blunt force is delivered....literally down to the millisecond. Simply bad timing for Mr. Hamlin.

So he just happened to fall from something else right after taking a blow to the chest? Why didn't it just happen at some random time? Obviously it was a result of the play. Yeah, it sorta looked innocuous, but that's like all other cases of this. Players take a puck to the chest or a baseball or lacrosse hit or whatever all the time and almost nothing ever happens. But the 1 in a million can happen at just the wrong time and cause an issue.
