England absolutely mauled Iran 3 days ago. As the game wore on you could see the life drain from the Iranian faces after chasing shadows in that heat. While up 4 - 1 , in roughly the 70th min , Southgate subbed several key players to keep them fresh for other battles. USA were up 1 - 0 against Wales after a stellar performance in the 1st half. Unfortunately , the new philosophy for the 2nd half was to sit back and absorb wales advances and hope to hang on. The big difference for the US is that England are a far better side then Wales. They have the midfield to take control of the possession and pace this game will be played at. I think they will be able to wear down a tired US side by the 2nd half

Qatar showed very little against Ecuador , registering a grand total of zero shots on goal. The 2 - 0 score was flattering to Qatar as Ecuador chose to take their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half and play keep away. Senegal held their own against a very talented Dutch side , losing to 2 very late goals. The midfield of Kouyate , Gueye and Mendy is world class and capable of putting Qatar on the back foot even more so the Ecuador did imo

Agreed. The commentator stated that he created the contact by stopping suddenly. No idea why that would matter.

Either way, I'm happy to see Senegal take the Lead. They are the much better side so far

It should be a fairly entertaining game with a lot on the line. A win by either side puts them through to the knockout stage, although with Qatar on tap The Dutch could afford a loss. I am a big fan of Memphis Depay for the dutch , but wonder how fit he is after coming back recently from a long term injury. Still , the back line of Netherlands is a step above that of Ecuador imo. Sadly , i wont be able to watch the game live today

Yeah, this was a tough opening week. Betting was so disjointed. 1st halfs were really tough to cash. I do think a have a better feel for most groups. Nothing like the 3rd game in group play!

I really think the books expectations were more than exceeded. Top tier countries loosing outright, Totals were all counterintuitive. In -game play was like Russian roulette. Crazy.

The winner of this game , if there is one , will more then likely finish 1st in the group. France finish the group stage against Tunisia and Denmark play Australia. I believe both will win those games. That said , a goal in the 1st half by either side , will change the complexion of this game.
