England absolutely mauled Iran 3 days ago. As the game wore on you could see the life drain from the Iranian faces after chasing shadows in that heat. While up 4 - 1 , in roughly the 70th min , Southgate subbed several key players to keep them fresh for other battles. USA were up 1 - 0 against Wales after a stellar performance in the 1st half. Unfortunately , the new philosophy for the 2nd half was to sit back and absorb wales advances and hope to hang on. The big difference for the US is that England are a far better side then Wales. They have the midfield to take control of the possession and pace this game will be played at. I think they will be able to wear down a tired US side by the 2nd halfComment -

Qatar showed very little against Ecuador , registering a grand total of zero shots on goal. The 2 - 0 score was flattering to Qatar as Ecuador chose to take their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half and play keep away. Senegal held their own against a very talented Dutch side , losing to 2 very late goals. It should be a fairly entertaining game with a lot on the line. A win by either side puts them through to the knockout stage, although with Qatar on tap The Dutch could afford a loss. I am a big fan of Memphis Depay for the dutch , but wonder how fit he is after coming back recently from a long term injury. Still , the back line of Netherlands is a step above that of Ecuador imo. The winner of this game , if there is one , will more then likely finish 1st in the group. France finish the group stage against Tunisia and Denmark play Australia.
