Most of the black talking heads are saying that his punishment is too severe.
A lot of white folks said a lot less the past few years and got cancelled and had their lives ruined.
So it is ok for blacks to be racist against other groups but not the other way around?

Barring injury or some sh!t, Nets are going to be favorites to win the East. Simmons is playing elite ball. Watanabe is coming out of nowhere. They have the talent to win it all.

Dont think that was white privilege. Owners and execs seem to have a hard on for point guards as coaches. If Curry and Paul announced they were retiring and wanted to coach, would not be surprised if somebody gave them a chance fairly quickly.

The funniest thing about the Nash's hire was the Nets already had experienced a star point guard with no experience failing miserably as a coach (Jason Kidd).

It's 2-time MVP privilege... They all have at least a half-dozen assistants giving them input - most of them more qualified than themselves - so it's just a matter of are they humble enough to listen. Larry Bird got a HC gig with no experience and he led the Pacers to the finals. Rick Carlisle (future hall of famer) and DIck Carter were his assistants. It's a very privileged job in general.

I'm sure there have been black coaches that have been afforded the same generosity. 0-time MVP Billups got the hire the same summer and he had just 1 year as an assistant.

Sims (Knicks) would be a good target for them. He looks like a young D.Howard! These string bean shot-blocker centres are no good.

Nets & Knicks would in theory be good trade partners; Knicks need shooters/ Nets need toughness.

All coaches emphasis defense & rebounding. These are buzzwords. If you ever take the time to follow the local beat writers of every team in training camp you'll hear every coach talk about defense & rebounding, and accountability, and ubuntu, and pushing pace. It's all stuff players don't want to do.

Sims would be great. yeah they don't need another Claxton, a string bean center who can block. They need beef. It's plain obvious to everyone.

Supposedly the Nets are trying their best to offload Irving. As I said I doubt any team will take him. The Lakers reportedly are uninterested in a Westbrook-Irving trade, which would make perfect sense. The last thing the Lakers need is defense down low with LeBron and unibrow. What the Lakers need is a pure scorer, and though Irving sux at d he is an elite scorer-they don't need his d. But the Nets could use Westbrook to crash the boards, he can't shoot the 3 but they got all kinds of guys who sit at the perimeter and wait for the jump shot. But, the Lakers are stupid-their window is this year only-LeBron is on fumes, they won't have one more year, and they suck right now, they have to do something-getting Irving at least gives them a shot.

Nets also have one more year, because imo Durant is showing small signs of decline. He's had an achilles injury.

Mills, Curry, Harris, these guys are the same. Good at shooting 3's but can't play defense. So they are trade bait. Nobody wants Harris' salary, and Mills looks like garbage. But, who knows. Shooting 3's is a luxury in this league, and Harris and Curry hit a high percentage.

But you have to give up something to get something. Watanabe as good as he is, is a great addition to the Nets. But, they need a guy in the middle way more than anything else. They will have to get something big for Watanabe.

The Nets HAVE to keep Simmons. He provides any chance at a title.

It's a matter of if, not when, the Nets make a trade. Lots of rumors.

As for buzzwords, yeah every coach is going to say that. The difference was Vaughn said it in the huddle, and he said it to the press. And most importantly, he is subbing guys out who don't play defense. As for Nash, my sense was they could care less what he had to say.

As for Irving, I think he plays harder. He has every reason to gain back his reputation. I can't tell you how many times he was staring out in space while Steve Nash was the coach.

It's one game, they won the last 2, so we'll see. But I like where the team is headed. Steve Nash had no clue what he was doing-during the playoffs he even said he had no answers, as he had Blake Griffin on the bench. So how can you have no answers and not try things. This is what makes Vaughn different-you can see him putting players into the game. He puts Thomas and Sumner into the game for 3 minutes to see if these guys can do anything at all. He's more like Pop he'll take a guy out if he stinks. As we know Pop would take out the entire starting lineup for playing like garbage. Nash would have a limited bench no matter what these guys did. Blake Griffin got in his doghouse and never got out.

Well Griffin is with the Celtics now, and guess who's ahead of him in the rotation besides Horford? Vonleh who played in the CBA last year, and Kornet who was in the GL.

I like the Nuggets as dark horse contenders. They have something in Jokic & Murray obviously. Made some bad decisions at the forward spots with Gordon & Porter, but if they can swing a trade..... slightly longer odds than the Nets yet a more solid foundation. I doubt Durant or Irving ever sniff a title again.

Maybe the Lakers would trade with the Nets. That's another team that would do great in a trade with the Nets-lots of defense and toughness can't score vs a team that can score but can't play defense. And both teams are in their final year of having any shot at a title imo.

"Rumors" the Lakers won't trade could be just bs to get a better deal. Who knows with all the crap out there
