#2Oh...I don't know. Maybe 15 g's total. I'm just riding out the 7 years on all of it. They're really annoying with the phone calls and stuff though. Collection agencies need to get a life. Stop calling people that don't wanna talk to you.Comment -

#6In college when I got my first one----maybe 2K on a Discover Card.
After that---I got an AmEx card and that kind of prevented me from running up balances I couldn't pay off. Besides that----student loans were much worse than any cc I could have had.Comment -

#7Back then the more I used CCs the more they would come in the mailbox. All I had to do was call the 800 # and I would have anywhere from 3-5K more credit. Crazy Days!Comment -

Yeah, the student loans suck. I owe about 20 in those. They don't go away after 7 years either. It's like herpes. Sticks with you forever. But that's for another thread.Comment -

#31I was just thinking after reading this theard.
If OBAMA really want to help the American people and give hand outs why not pay off all Americans Credit cards. The the economy would truely become well again cause they would just use the cards again and put money back in the flow.Comment -

I'm not paying that f'in rate. If I can't get them to reduce the rate, I'm going to stop making payments on the damn thing. But I worry about the heavy whack on the credit report and even getting sued (It's about 17k on that one card). Collection agencies I can handle; getting sued I can't.
My wife and I had to live on CCs twice between jobs in the past 12 years. Still paying them off, but got ripped off on the rate hike.Comment -

#35Originally posted by NickeliciousJB, does that mean you have a charge off on your credit report? One of my cards just boosted the APR up to 29.99% for no reason (literally, they said it was just a standard review and they reserved the right to raise the rate).
