Just by reading the comments it's clear a lot of people don't understand how a vaccine works. A vaccine (flu shot, covid, etc) doesn't protect you from catching the virus or disease. It only reduces the side effects of catching the virus or disease.

So since the first time I got covid it felt as bad as a paper cut. No symptoms and I played basketball the same etc. If I had the vaccine I would have had no symptoms unlike the first time where my sense of taste was gone for a week?

Because the vaccine doesn't stop covid infection. It makes the symptoms milder if you get it. So you can be asymptomatic and spreading the virus to other people that are not vaccinated.

Despite being fully vaccinated, you can still get covid and pass it on to others. Odds are you would be mildly affected or even asymptomatic, but those that catch it from you might not be as fortunate--especially those that aren't vaccinated.
