#74One of the greatest. I use to try and imitate him. I’d pull off a perfect riff after I kicked my friends butt in electric football. Damn time flies. Hate to see legends gone. RIPComment -

#79Here's another one Steve - Ted Nugent and Eddie First met back in 1978 -- "Ted was cool enough to give the band a sound check," Eddie said. "He's standing off to the side and he's listening to me, and he comes up and says, 'Hey, you little shit! Where's your little magic black box?' I'm going, Who the penetrate is that? And it was Ted. Hey Ted, it's nice to meet you, thanks for the sound check. And he's going, 'Let me play your guitar!' I go, 'Okay, here you go.' He starts playing my guitar and it sounds like Ted. "He yells, 'You just removed your little black box, didn't you? Where is it? What did you do?' I go, 'I didn't do anything!' So I play, and it sounds like me. He says, 'Here, play my guitar!' I play his big old guitar and it sounds just like me. He's going, 'You little shit!' What I'm trying to say is I am the best at doing me. Nobody else can do me better than me."Comment -

#84One of the greatest Guitarists/Musicians to ever live!
Could put him in same conversation as Bach-Beethoven
as Eddie cut his own path with such a distinctive sound, I could recognize
Eddie's Heavy Guitar riffs, no matter the length, almost instantly on any
unannounced new music from Van Halen I'd haven't heard yet back
in the day.
Follow the Light Brother! You'll be missed!

#85I like to remember those who have passed on as they were in the prime of
their adult youth because it represents their spirit's image in the new dimension
they have entered after their death on Earth as we Know it......
Eddie in this interview was in the prime of his adult youth..
Eddie was a great father who remained a great friend to his
ex-wife throughout their marriage and divorce until the day he died.......
Eddie his son Wolfgang and Ex-wife Valerie Bertarelli mother of Wolfgang
Wolfgang and his Girl friend celebrating their 1 day apart birthdays together.

#87Best post of thread! awesome story! Thx for sharing!
Innovator and legend. When I look back at the "musical moments" that have defined my life, one that is forever etched in my mind took place on a camping weekend with junior high school classmates in 1980 or 1981. Richard Davis had brought a boombox and put in Van Halen's first album. I can still picture the entire scene vividly, can still recall -- can still *feel*, really -- my visceral reaction to hearing Runnin' With the Devil for the first time. That guitar! That tone! It was utterly mind-expanding. I think the guitar was my favorite instrument from literally that moment forward. Soon I'd be back home, lying on the couch, blissfully listening to those newly purchased Van Halen records on repeat. Today is a sad day.
You know your shit!
Thx for sharing!
Quite simply one of the best guitar players of all time.
Innovator and creator of the stunning 2 handed hammer on style playing technique, no one could match Eddie’s ferocious playing during Van Halen’s heyday.
Peavey Musical Instruments founder, Hartley Peavey, personally signed and gave Eddie complete control over what would become Eddie’s custom signature guitar, The EVH Wolfgang, named after his son. It was his dream to design his own guitar and the only one he ever played after the “Frankenstein” modified red Kramer strat guitar with those famous white and black stripes, which Eddie also customized and designed.
Peavey later designed the custom EVH 5150 all tube guitar amplifier stack according to Eddie’s specific requests and specifications of what he wanted in a stage amplifier.
Eddie was a great guy and super friendly. I had the good fortune of meeting him a few times back in the day at a couple of trade shows where he was the guest of Peavey Instruments.
Dude handed me one of those famous Van Halen logo picks after he was done jamming a kick ass solo,
I’ll never forget that.
We lost one of the greats fellas. If you ever got to see those early VH concerts, it was one fuk’in high energy rock show!
Rest easy Eddie. Thanks for all the great jams bro.
Haven't read page 3 yet but I doubt there'll be anymore posts with the quality
of U 2's (hehe) posts........Comment -

#88My favorite all around tune from Van Halen "1"
Wild party weekends ripping the panties off of all the
Mary Jane fukkalot's in and around the surrounding
counties as there was never a shortage of those ho's
in the back seat or on front seat with door open her
head hanging out or banging on the hood , her spread
eagle on the Eagle of my T/A..Lol....
Short jean mini skirts were in style back in the day which
was great for easy access as some didn't even wear panties.
Those were some of the greatest days of my life!!!
If there were such a thing as Groundhog Day
those are the times I wouldn't mind waking up
to everyday forever, Lol....
So
My favorite all around tune from Van Halen "1"
Is without doubt Everybody wants some!!!
"1"= the David Lee Roth days of VH..
That dude picked up morethan anybody on Earth
in those days.
You can't get romantic on a subway line
Conductor don't like it, says you're wastin' your time
But everybody wants some
I want some too
Everybody wants some
Baby, how 'bout you?
Yeah, I've seen the people that are lookin' for a moonbeam
Yeah, ya spent a lot ya got lost in the jet-stream
But everybody wants some
I want some too
Everybody wants some
How 'bout you?
Oh yeah, uh yeah, yeah, yeah
Everybody wants some
I want some too oh
Everybody wants some
How 'bout you?
Oh, where'd you get that shirt?
Oh, that, I like it
I like the way the line runs up the back of the stockings
I've always liked those kind of high heels too you know, I
No no no no, don't take 'em off, don't take leave 'em on, leave 'em on
Yeah, that's it, a little more to the right, a little more
Everybody wants some
I want some too
Everybody wants some
Baby, how 'bout you?
Everybody wants some
Everybody needs some
Everybody wants some
Everybody needs some (wo)
Look, I'll pay you for it, what the fukk?Comment -

#90I'm impressed when any legendary rock star lasts as long as Eddie did..
There should be a tribute to the old farts still alive and kicking today that smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish and banged any chick or dude that almost looked liked a chick back stage during their prime..
Keeping it real.. Burn the candle at both ends in life you should die early in life.. Ozzy is my hero!!..
