Repeat after me: we do not know the long term health effects of the virus. They simply cannot play until we know more which will hopefully be a lot more in Dec or Jan than we know today. Things are moving fast but not that fast.

they all do. but you know what will be extremely expensive and may be the biggest economic risk factor long term? LAWSUITS for several years IF it is determined that covid causes long term health effects in those infected.
the latest thing is revolving around its effects on THE HEART.
the gate (fans in the stands) is gone.
now it's only the TV money vs the Lawsuits.
i don't even need to sit in those private meetings to know that it's the lawsuits they are worried about.

we know that. you know what else is at stake revolving around money? LAWSUITS !!!!
A rare heart condition that could be linked to COVID-19 has been found in several athletes in the Big Ten and other Power 5 conferences.

Might be wrong, but I see 0% chance of any college sports. Universities are pathetic and weak institutions that will bow to any complaint from any percentage of their students/staff. They are also extremely slow to adapt. There is no way they'd be able to figure out how to have sports 'safely', especially if the athletes are going to then mix back in with the regular student population.
RIP college
We'll see the SEC play this year.
The South is basically its own country, and mostly for the better.

The SEMO and SIU football game scheduled for Sept. 19 will not be played. With the cancellation, SIU will not be pursuing anymore fall games.

Am I wrong but isnt a young athlete in excellent shape one of the safest demographic groups in terms of being a Flu fatality?

Long term effects of COVID 19 still unknown so the school presidents are concerned about lawsuits in the future.

Looks like Yale's rapid saliva test will be of huge assistance to the Sec, Acc and Big 12

the testing is not so much the issue as the concern about entire position groups getting infected and then being benched for games and leaving a team with an entire OL, DL, LB group or others who play in very close proximity on the field. this does not even count the team meetings that occur in close quarters

Mack Brown said it best. When he has his Tar Heel team? No problems thru all the practices, meetings, workouts, etc. The Yale test will provide quicker turn around times, helping these football programs immediately control any player that tests positive and prevent outbreak clusters on the team. This is how football will be played successfully in my opinion. All thanks to Yale!
