They should give weekly bans to all the posters admitting involvement in illegal gambling activities. It is not fair to just ban the bookie but leave the bettors taking shots unpunished. Unless the SBR policy is place your illegal bets but if we catch the bookie you are safe. This will give a stern warning to all people attempting to place bets in forum and will also help reduce this type of activities from happening if both the bettor and bookie are punished simultaneously.

Thats pretty harsh. In the latest case I think they tried to get the participants to stop and used the ban button as the option of very last resort. Next time the military option, the ban button, should be considered earlier.Comment -

It's illegal to use SBR's utilities to solicitate booking. You can click the banners of sponsors to sign up for a book but it is illegal for a non-sponsor that is operating in the US to contact business using SBR's utilities. This is why the SBR servers are located in Costa Rica and not in the US. I would say pavy is right about what would be fair. And if I am remembering correctly, SBR agrees. I read something about a zero tolerance policy regarding betting between posters. I don't recall any distinction being made between types of bets, or about the person on one side of a bet being more guilty than the person on the other.
Looks like, as with almost every zero tolerance policy in the history of civilization, principles quickly becomes compromised and the teeth are removed. Would anyone really expect SBR to start banning bunches of its busiest posters?

Probably close to the mark. In this kind of community you need to give those involved more than ample warnings and respect. Like a country club and they are country club members.
