New format for this event! Only the Top 18 players QUALIFY for the Finals.

The SBR Lightning Poker begins on Monday April 29th.


Qualifier Schedule
Three daily tournaments Mon-Fri beginning Monday April 29th.through May 29th– 3PM, 8PM, 11PM ET.

The 18 SBR Poker tournament players who qualified will advance to the Poker Championship on Saturday June 1st at 5PM ET.






50 players per tournament. 6-point entry fee for Non-Pros, SBR Pros Play Free. View structure.

The $1,000 in cash prizes will be paid in bitcoin.

Monday June 3rd, SBR will send payment to the winners through bitcoin.

The exchange rate used will be the price SBR paid to acquire the Bitcoin that same morning.

Terms and Conditions
1. Must be an SBR Pro by May 29th to receive poker championship password.
2. Participants are limited to one account per household. Players who operate multiple accounts or are otherwise restricted from the forum during the qualification period may lose their eligibility at the discretion of SBR.
3. In the event that there are ties for the 20th spot, tiebreaker will be # of Cashes. If still tied, the earlier SBR Forum join date.
4. Player may participate in one daily qualifier tournament per day. No shows will be ejected after 15 minutes.

Cool - one month format as we requested, I like it! And no satelliting in, just Top 20 or bust, an interesting change. I personally like it on the whole, keep it up Drew!

Too bad mpaschal. But your situation is one of the good reasons why I think this one month format is a nice idea. If you missed a few weeks of May in a say three month format (May/June/July for instance), that would still probably be enough that you would have a lot of trouble qualifying for the Top 20 so you might be disinclined to play in June/July then as well. But in this case, if they continue with this one month long format, assuming you are available, you will be way more motivated to play in June + July after mostly skipping May.

People are going to be disinclined to play this format IMO. People outside of the top 30 or 40 players here, easily could decide it isn't worth it.

With the event being a month this requires MORE skill than ever to advance. Even you can make it bobby...

I think it requires commitment to play every day and cash out big in a few, leaving the mini-cash players to fight at the bottom of the 20.
Aggressive players like Trip D , Big O , Jake ,Blanco for sure will maket top 20. I will not be playing regularly so, my participation is very much in doubt unless I can cash out 1 win with and some final tables.

So since its a "Lightning" format does this mean blinds are going to be faster? Whats the structure for the final tournament? What are the starting blinds and stack sizes? Would be even better if chip stacks for the Final Tournament for the Top 20 were dispersed fairly based on performance during qualifiers.
