You would hope that you can trust the team doctor to have your best interest in mind. Shouldn’t have to worry about the doc or team withholding info. As a Celtics fan I cannot co-sign on them never winning another ring but the way Ainge handled IT will definitely turn off some guys. Why any player would trust the opinion of a doctor paid by the team is beyond me. They are looking out for the best interests of the organization not the player.

I wouldn’t go that far. His job is to put together the best team that he can and in doing that you sometimes have to make tough unpopular decisions. That having been said, the organization didn’t give IT enough information on his hip to make a better decision on how to handle it.

It is a cold world sometimes and players need to do what is best for themselves long term and stop relying on doctors employed by the team to tell them when they are good to play.

Thomas was emotional because... it's one of those things in life... you knew you were GREAT AT ONE POINT.... and he was making ridiculous shots etc.... but he knows he's not the same anymore because of injury. In fact.... he's basically just good enough to be a back up.

His speed isn't there anymore and he hasn't done anything to differentiate or reinvent himself as a player. He still thinks he's a Max player who can drive into the paint at will.

^^^when did that happen because all he mostly did was score in the paint as small as he is he wasnt getting his shot blocked but scoring or drawing fouls. unless his hip isnt ever gonna be ok to play at the highest level then itll just take time he still averaged 15 pts the last 2 seasons
