Minkus, what do you think of that Sidney Crosby kid? Hell of a player, isn't he?

      Haven't they?

Sad but true, regarding the season tickets. To bad they they have all that population to support such a pathetic franchise and continue turn out rather than stay away and force the team to take winning seriously.

Some franchises want to win. That is their No.1 goal. The Leaves have the $$ and no incentive.

Burke will help them build a winner.

Honestly, if you were going to give up Lupul, Sbisa, two 1sts and a 3rd, maybe you should have gone and found a GOALTENDER.
Very true, we will see how great a "leader" Mike Richards is when he has to balance assholes like Emery and Pronger all the time.

          Flyers09 to take the bait:

          NO - -900
          YES +850

Dwight the population of Toronto is 90,000 less than Chicago, so the population statement is weak, there is no lineup for Blackhawks season tickets.

Really? all the western Canadian teams complained about the scheduling when Toronto never visited, the Leafs are easily the most popular team in the nation, numbers don't lie.

Next you'll try to have us believe the Leafs are not the most $$valuable$$ franchise in the NHL.

They are the most $$valuable$$ franchise in the NHL. conrats

As far as the Leaves coming to western Canada to play, I will agree it was a bigger deal A DECADE OR SO AGO. They had a decent team and the hatred for them motivated a lot of fans to come out and boo them.

Not such a big deal anymore. Trust me on that one.

Crosby has the biggest heart for the game. And with that huge heart he will continue to win Cups year after year.

So far The Flyers have made the best move this off season, and i strongly believe it was a smart move.
As for lupul, he was useless in the playoffs, he got hit over and over again and never made any progress with the puck, too weak.

Sbisa, i like him, hes a good defensemen. Flyers didnt give him much time to shine, they over looked him and gave the Shine to Giroux.

Give it time fellas, I strongly believe the Pens and Flyers will be at the Eastern Conference finals over and over again for the next 2 years to come

So when the Leafs improve hatred will again motivate fans to come out to watch them agains the small market western teams.

Dwight, the Leafs are a huge part of being from Toronto & Ontario, there was a rich history and great tradition that has carried over from the days of the original six when Montreal was a far larger city and had access to the best players from Quebec before anyone else, the Leafs were always underdogs, they still are.

The fact the Leafs are so hated only fuels their fans, and there are obviously more Leaf fans than any other in this country.

Vancouver will have to settle for being 3rd or 4th most popular.

Betplum you are a typical toronto fan who's hope never ends but one who's desire is never filled. The leafs have guys like you by the hook cause they dont care about winning all they care about is money. The LEAFS will get better for sure cause Wilson can get a lot out of a little but eventually the players will stop listening to him just like they did in Washington , Anaheim and SanJose. As a flyer fan i cant criticize the leafs a lot but i know the flyers try their best to put a winning team on the ice every year im not too sure the leafs have the same intentions to their die hard loyal money wasting fans.

I agree with that. I can't believe they lost to Carolina. I am still not sold on Tim Thomas as being good enough to win a Stanley Cup.

They lost because of Carolina's team speed on the forecheck. IF they had no heart they would have just folded in game 5.

Lakerboy, I am not pissed. Was I diappointed in the way the Bruins ended their season, sure. But if you are telling me the reason they lost that series was heart, I am not buying it. The Canes PP was great, Ward was outstanding, and the Bruins never adjusted to the Canes forecheck.

But if you are telling me the reason they lost that series was heart, I am not buying it. The Canes PP was great, Ward was outstanding, and the Bruins never adjusted to the Canes forecheck.

fair enough you have good points but that bruin team in my opinion had no heart for ages. their late season struggles- losing to l phoenix at home not to mention many other losses(flyers twice/caps/kings i believe) they just didnt have leadership and really fell apart

I agree about the Bruins teams of the past, Joe Thornton should have never worn the C. I dont feel their late season struggles were about a lack of heart, I just think the team hit a rut. They had the divsion locked up and shifted their gears into neutral.

They didn't play their best hockey against the Canes, a lot of this had to do with the Canes using their speed to set the tempo, and get the Bruins away from playing a physical game.

How the hell can you blame Thomas for Boston's loss? When the pressure was on the team folded, and made poor decisions turning the puck over in their own zone. Really not fair to say Thomas wasn't good enough. He can't play responsible defense or put pucks in the net; there is only so much the goalie can do.

He was excellent with his back against the wall in Games 5 and 6, and every goal in Game 7 was on a Boston turnover.

Laker, I haven't spent a penny on Leaf games/paraphernalia in 20 years, I watch them on TV and am realistic about the team, I've made money betting on them and against them.

I'm definitely not a typical Toronto hockey fan, I don't expect them to win the Cup anytime soon and I don't contribute to MLSE's bank account.

I am from Toronto, my dad was a Leaf fan and so is everyone in my family - its a Toronto tradition, so of course I'd like to see them do well.

As for the hatred of this team its kind of strange, they have put some bad teams on the ice for quite a while but people across Canada love to hate them, these same people cheer for the Toronto Blue Jays.
