Update:

had spinal tap done yesterday afternoon for more tests. Now will be leaving by ambulance to another Mayo hospital in Barron, WI. Going there to focus and work hard on therapy. Haven’t been able to stand or walk yet. So it’s going to be hard work.

Hey Badger,
I just saw the news. Damn, I'm praying for you and wishing you the best. My sister in law has MS as well and it is very manageable, although an obvious inconvenience/pain. Life expectancy is pretty much the same as the general public, so you'll be with us for a very long time.

Get your rehab, then start figuring out how to get control of your diet which is most important. Once you're back on your feet, start working on exercise. You'll be better than new in no time.

Hang in there. I had the same thing happen to me. On 1/1/18 i called he ambulance because i felt so bad and had lost the use of my legs. I felt so bad, I decided I was going to the hospital to die. Once I got there the story changed and I fought back. I was in rehab for 6 weeks doing PT every other day. I'm still not 100% but much better. Just remember to focus on your recovery and do your PT as scheduled. Wish you the best of luck.

Sorry I’ve been slacking on the updates. This was the toughest week yet. I was scheduled to go home Friday however my legs decided not to work this week. Woke up Monday and lower body was completely numb. It couldn’t feel the nurses touching me even.

Go onto Tuesday and I was trying to go to occupational therapy. I couldn’t stand from sitting on the edge of my bed. So we tried this slide board that went from my bed to a wheelchair. Well that didn’t go well....I ended up on the floor. the dr called my neurologist who is at a different hospital in town. He recommended I do another 5 days of steroids.

Friday had to get ameducao transport to the other hospital to visit neurologist. I have a mri set up for Tuesday afternoon. This will be an important time for me. If there are new brain lesions I will be sent to Mayo in Rochester, MN for a plasnaphersis. A very risky procedure from what I understand. But we will see.

Today marks 8 weeks in the hospital I need to get back to work and my boring life.

Well found out this morning I’ll be going home Friday finally after nearly 10 weeks in the hospital.

Ill need assistance of a walker still but iol be independent enough to go home. I’ll have home healthcare, occupational therapy and physical therapy a few times a week at home.

Will not be able to return to work yet however. It’s been a struggle but Ive stayed positive the best I can throughout.
