First, of all throughout history for some reason and it is not known why the is a resesion every 7 years. It a correction as such. Usually in history the only times we have corrected that was through spending in infrastucture or war. The great depression was not solved from the NEW DEAL it didn't turn around until 42 when war machine ramped up. America has been made though there military actions period. Now the problem is when the US is at war it has to issue bonds and the 10 year treasury bond is what determines rates for mortages. Also when the county is uncertin people get scared and pull money out of the stock market and put them into securities, (also gold is devalued).This is why the mortgage rates have fallen over the last 7 years and continue to be low.

Now on to Canada and our problems. The problem in the US was that all this should have showed up earlier but because of Clintons deregulation of FANIE AND FREDIE to make a house available for everyone with a pulse.
