LB i hate kobe and the lakers more than i love my own favorite teams and players........i received tremendous joy every time they lost in the playoffs between '03 and '08, starting with the time in '03 when kobe was clearly crying while sitting on the bench at staples as the spurs were closing them out........
then the infighting right after getting beaten to oblivion by the pistons in 04
then the 05 crappy season
then the 06 losing a 3-1 lead to the suns in the 1st round
then the 07 beat down to the suns
then the 08 beat down to the celtics
it was 7 glorious yrs then the bastard had to win again
fukk kobe bryant and everyone who looks like him
- i havent seen anyone that looks like him though your funny guy

no way. GORDON equals NO DEFENSE.
why get half a player even if he is good. are they aiming for wins to reach a good spot in playoff, or win multiple series with hard nose defense and fluid offense. gordon is one black hole like iverson, etc

Face it, you guys fell ass backwards into a championship this year getting a team that was living off threes and upset the #1 seed. The addition of Ron Artest will either win you guys another one, cause I think Boston will get through the east next year despite Shaq and Oldsanity, Cleveland may make it, but Ron Artest is great for going against both those teams with his defense he would play on James and Pierce, that being said I dont think LA will get a cake schedule in the West next year like this year cause Denver will be ready, same with San A, plus Gasol will be playing Euro ball before the season starts and I can see him really being gassed towards the end, similar to Vagyant.

Spurs are gonna be a tough and deep team with lots of experience..... not sure their older legs will hold up for 82 and playoffs but I like them the most to win it all this year

TIMEOUT!!!
Fiasco: where did you get that picture? I need to make a poster of it!
20-1, not bad. I would rather put a bet on a team that has a really good chance of winning it, and plan on betting against them in the Playoffs.

And who would that be? The Lakers, Cavs, and Celtics? At best you will get 5-1 on the Celtics, 3-1 on Cavs, and 1.5-1 for the Lake Show. Show me the money and be bold.

The Spurs are always good, until Parker and Duncan expire, which won't be sometime yet. Spurs are good at picking up players that can play good defense and chip in points. Its built around experience, defense and the will to play good team basketball.

There will be no dark horse winning the championship this year. I see a Lakers/Cavs finals with the Cavs winning in 6.

Blazers is worth a shot IMO and Brandon Roy longshot for MVP but I like having 1 unit on him because if Blazers breakout, he'll be the one.

Of course. But my unbiased opinion would be Lakers v Cavs still, series lasts 6 games. Whoever plays best between Shaq and Bynum wins.

Don't think it will be Lakers and Cavs. Wasn't everyone calling that last season with the aquisitions of Mo Williams.

Yeah, that was last year's prediction as well but the Cavs faced a huge matchup problem against Orlando. In the playoffs, it all comes down to matchups, and the Cavs just didn't have an answer for the Turkoglu/Lewis pick and roll. The Cavs were the better team, and would have played the Lakers tougher, but Orlando was just a matchup nightmare.
Danny Ferry was brilliant this summer in addressing the Cavs weaknesses. The Cavs had 4 main aquisitions: Shaq (For Ben Wallace and Pavlovic, aka 0 production lost), Anthony Parker (incredibly underrated athletic 2-guard), Jamario Moon (aka the Rashard Lewis stopper), and Leon Powe (who should be playing in February and was acquired for pennies). Shaq will split time with Ilgauskus, giving the Cavs the ability to show a variety of different looks offensively while limiting the minutes on each of their aging bodies. Parker and Moon add length, athleticism, and defense to the perimeter. Leon Powe is a steal for the cost and will be hugely important come playoff time.
Finally, anyone who has watched the preseason has seen that the most improved Cavs player is JJ Hickson, who has added muscle, a jump shot, and is now calmer with the ball. There is talk that he may see some starts in place of Varejao if he keeps up the improvement.
Sorry for the rambling, just thought I'd give some insight into my team. I strongly feel that the Cavs are the most improved top team from a year ago, and they led the league with 66 wins last year. The Cavs are much deeper now than they have ever been and have answers for both the Magic and the Celtics. The Lakers are the only team that I feel can challenge them for the title.

I will be interested to see the real products, that the cavs, spurs, and blazers put on the court come regular season
