Loads of cracking advice in this thread. Just gotta work at it and be patient, or end up in the poorhouse. I personally am down to betting peanuts on games whilst i cant find a job. Being patient at the small stakes is the place to start, then when your bankroll is bigger you will carry that discipline along with you, IMO.

        Incorrect. 20 a day is 140 per week = 560 per-month = 6720 in a year = the bankroll you require within 3 months.

You seem to want B before A, it doesnt work like that.

          Let's see.

          $1,000 starting bankroll
          All bets -105 w/ 53% win
1/2 Kelly is 1.8% of your bankroll per bet (so $18 to start)

After 10,000 bets expected bankroll is $570,669 and median bankroll is $117,060

You're right to ask questions, i knew nothing regarding money management and bankrolls until I came here and my gambling is now hugely more succesful as a consequence.

Yep, wish I'd learnt alot before I became a mug punter back in the day too, luckily I guess I had money to lose. Not so much now so ive spent the last 6 months (loads of free time) learning about money management etc, so when my finances allow I will be better for it.

The main downfalls of most gamblers who lose is GREED and IMPATIENCE.

GREED AND IMPATIENCE....very good post squirrel. That is my problem.

I know no one will believe me because I have no proof, and I havnt even kept a record for myself but I am a winning sports better if I learn money management. I would like to keep a record to know for sure but I just dont have the time to keep a record like that on here. Especially with baseball betting when determining units won or lost is more difficult then football when all games are basically -110

Picking correct winners is not an easy task I know but keeping self-control is the biggest Challenge!

Let's say you got 5000$ bankroll. You decided to pick Giants and you're sure about it. It's a LOCK in your opinion. However, if you're betting more than 250$, you should quit betting immediately..

Never bet more than %5 of your bankroll. If your bankroll is above 10k, your bet size should be something like %2 or %3.

Be sure that %98 of sports bettors can't control themselves and they ignore this rule.

I started sports betting in 2003..

2008 was the first year that I made profit..

03, 04, 05, 06, 07.. All these years, I made my bookie rich. Can you believe it?

Then I started out with 1,000 bankroll in 2008. I always sticked with my plan. Never play parlays and never play more than %5 of your bankroll. My friends were laughing because I was betting 50$ each game. Their bankroll was lesser than 1k but they were placing higher wagers than me..

However, in the end of month, the only one who made profit was me. Their bankroll was zero..

Right now, my bankroll is 19k. Thanks to patience and self-control. I must admit that I'm not a great capper. I never hit 20 games in a row and my winning rate is not above %59. However, I'm a patient person and I always sticked with my plan.

Everybody is trying to masterize capping skills but they don't pay attention to money management skills. Just google it! Type sports betting, money management, professional handicapper in google and learn new things everyday! We should educate ourselves if we want to be a professional someday..

                    GL!

                    What are you an idiot?
I'm not a great handicapper either I only hit 58% and usually only win 18 in a row

If my unit size was 2K and I could manage +1 unit a day I'd be making 2K a day less the juice which is something I could have the patience for

Bet an amount that's meaningful to you. Just don't increase your bet until your br is large enough. If you go bust put together another br.
