Oh please, Az totally outplayed Pit...Don't make me bring up the Harrison Int....I'll concede that Az ****ed up and gave Pit a chance to take it away tho..

That Seattle game was a fvcking joke too! But, I will say that I am one that thinks it only matters that you are in the big game. After that, who cares? Being in it is enough.

Let the leagues try and get the outcome that'll benefit the game most. It's all entertainment anyway

Figure them out?! When is the last time the Patriots had a losing season?! The Patriots lose their starting QB week 1 and still post 11-5. How many teams could do that?

Pencil the Pats into the playoffs, no problem. Once they get into the tournament, they've got the experience & weapons to do damage.

Steelers are definitely on the short list. I've got them #2 on my list, behind the Pats. I'm not sure who doesn't have the Steelers at least in the top 5, if not the top 3.

The big difference between the Pats & Steelers, IMHO, is that the Pats have had an extra 5 weeks of offseason. It might not sound like much, but it can make a world of difference when these teams meet in January.

The pats had their day they wont win the superbowl. Actually how many years has it been since the pats won the superbowl- it will be 5 years in january.

Pats lost to giants, colts and broncos all games where they should have won. They were in control of the first 2 games and blew them. They are done and if their no 1 on your list its because they are hyped up. They had their day i will guarantee they wont win this year-they have been figured out cause if they hadnt been it wouldnt been this long since they last won.

The Patriots won two big playoff games the last time they were in the playoffs. They beat SD 21-12 after beating Jax 31-20. Sure, they choked to the Giants in the Super Bowl after going 18-0 to that point, but those things happen. It doesn't mean the Pats are a terrible team just because they lost a meaningful game once.

The previous year they also beat SD 24-21 after beating the Jets 37-16 in the playoffs. They went into Indy after that, losing a heartbreaker to the eventual Super Bowl Champs 38-34. Sure, it's a terrible loss, but it was Indy's year. It's tough to knock the Patriots too much for that game, which they weren't even favored to win.

The fact is, nobody has more playoff wins in the past three years than the Patriots. I like those odds as far as predicting future playoff success.

So, we can discount all teams except Steelers, Colts, Giants? The majority of past Super Bowl winners don't fit that trend. Try again.

Wrong. The Pats were heavy favs against the Giants, true. But the Pats were dogs at the Colts & Broncos, getting 3 1/2 & 3pts respectively.

So, they lost a couple games. Big deal. They've also won their fair share and then some. They go 18-1 rather than 19-0 and you see that as a crumbling franchise. Get real. They lost to the Giants by 3 points, hardly the end of an era. Quite the contrary, they simply ended up on the wrong end in an unlikely run where they were otherwise on the otherside of close games. It's the law of variance bringing them back down to earth, not some mystical end of an era. The Pats are doing just fine, as a franchise.

So, if the Patriots win the Super Bowl, you'll leave SBR and never come back? That sounds like a deal.

NE should roll this year. There's still a bad taste lingering from the 18-1 season. Brady will be fine this year, he has too many weapons on offense to be off his game. BB has invested heavily on the defensive side and even if it does take a month or 2 for this unit to gel, who's going to beat them when they're putting up 40+ points a game, week in and week out? There may be a surprise loss or 2, but look for them to peak come playoff time. This team is re-built/tweaked every year to flat out win and get to the playoffs, anything less is a disappointment. Last year a freak thing happened, I don't see it happening again this year. I think it will be NE/Pitts. in the AFC Championship and that will probably be a better game than the SB. If NE comes out as the AFC representative in the SB, they won't lose this one!!!!

                      NE Upset AGAIN!

That will be the storyline as the Eagles are hoisting the trophy!

Not an Eagles fan, but that's how I see it...

NE may lose again in the SB, like against the Giants, but it won't be Philly. NE owns that matchup.

Personally, I think if NE loses, it will be to a team like SD. If NE gets to the Super Bowl, I really don't like any of the NFC teams, unless the Giants give them a rematch, that might be fun!

I'm not sure about "strongest team on paper", then again I've never quite understood the cliche. Does that refer to fantasy football or something?

True. 'On paper' is about as fantasy as it gets. The only thing that matters is on the field.

On paper revolves around one word: if. If nothing crazy happens. If nobody gets injured. But something crazy always happens, and injuries are the name of the game.

On paper future injuries are discounted. Speaking of the Chargers, LT's health has been a repeated problem in the playoffs. Rivers has stumbled through a AFC championship game at the Patriots. Merriman wasn't there last season. The three top Chargers...

This season, on paper, the Chargers running game is insane with LT and Sproles. Rivers can hold his own with any QB. And if the defense gets back to 2007 form, blitzing with Merriman as sacks leader...

This is the most talented team, on paper. To improve the picture, they should have a chip on their shoulder after an average season last year. The team should be sharp and motivated. But there can be little doubt that, so far, they've always found a way to rip the paper up. From Marty-ball, to injuries, to taking games too lightly, somehow, somewhere the Chargers turn into their own worst enemies. Will this year be different?

The emergence of Sproles, coupled with a potentially healthy LT may be what San Diego finally needs to get over the hump...

I like them to go to the AFC title game. And prob lose to New England. But mark this, within 2 years, Phillip Rivers WILL BE considered the BEST QB in the game...

How about the young and talented Raiders team pulling a HUGE upset and winning it at long odds. No team in their division was over .500 last year and their schedule isn't very tough if these young guys can learn to play as a team maybe they can pull it off.

Yep, Seattle has the best chance to pull an Arizona this year, going from 4 wins last year to at least 9 wins and the NFC West title this year.

I don't like the Pats at all...But everytime I think about betting against them I remember how easy their schedule is....and most of their tough games are gonna be played @ Gillette Stadium...they host Ravens , Titans and Carolina...the only other 2 tough games are away to Colts and Saints...

I would like to see the Bills step it up this year and win that div , don't know ..And also Lynch might be suspended I understand..
