simple answer is no.two many question marks with rookies.is he going to be like peyton[or half as good as him],or leaf.only qb from the usc system that has done okay is carson palmer, and hes injury prone.if mark dosent pan out you have alot of money tied up.to much of a risk.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -Mark Sanchez's right hand was plenty warmed up after his second minicamp practice of the day. After all, the New York Jets' rookie quarterback needed to sign all six copies - 47 pages each - of his new, eye-popping contract.
"This is just the beginning," Sanchez said Wednesday with a big smile. "I'll be working everyday to justify this contract."
The Jets signed their franchise quarterback to a five-year deal that could be worth up to $60 million, including $28 million guaranteed.
"It's only the tip of the iceberg," Sanchez said. "There's so much more I want to accomplish. This doesn't assume that you're going to be successful. It's going to take a lot of hard work." Agent David Dunn said the deal is worth "around the $50 million mark," but could reach as much as $60 million with incentives. That makes it the richest rookie deal ever given out by the Jets.

I say hell no!!! Sanchez will never make it in the NFL. He will last only a few years until every team realizes that he is and always will be GARBAGE!!!!
        wtf???

Palmer was an elite QB when 100%, Cassell has also looked pretty good.

Leinart was always overrated. If he didn't play with Reggie Bush he's probably a 3rd/4th rounder.

Excellent point, Sanchez may be somewhere between Cassell and Palmer.

Hopefully, for him, he is only like Leinart when it comes to thinking he is a pretty boy!

Give ever rookie the same minimum NFL contract, and let them prove themselves on the field first.

Palmer isn't a dud. His numbers are as good as any QB in the league. His W/L isn't even that bad, close to .500, considering the franchise he plays for. I'll concede Palmer's career is young, entering his 6th season, he's still got a lot to prove. But if he puts up similar numbers in the next 5 years to those of his last 5, he's easily a top 5 QB in the NFL for his era.

Cassell doesn't really count. Was he really a USC guy? I mean he didn't really play for USC. Besides, he'll come crashing down to earth after losing the best QB job in the league, playing with one of the NFL's top WR tandems, as well as a perfect team situation for any QB. Matt Cassell is the next Scott Mitchell.
