This seems to be government forcing the gamblers hand, either you play with us or you suffer the consequences. Its an attempt to see what the outrage is to either push further into ending online gambling, or to see if the resistance is such to allow for a government role in online gambling, i.e. making it lawful under their guidelines.

Sin tax, i.e. cigarettes and liquor. I believe federal taxation is unconstitutional btw.

i'm with ya, but when 99% of the people are government educated indoctrinated fools like betillbroke, we'd be better off just jumping ship.

i just remembered about a month ago 5dimes debited an echeck from my balance (instead of my checking account), after they lost their processor. (they no longer have echeck as a deposit option)

                        GANG, why deposit?????

Just find a fellow POKERSTARS customer and have them transfer the funds to you........it takes 5 seconds to do so at STARS.

This way, you never have to worry about depositing or getting a check..........just set-up a buddy system with 1-20 of your friends on Stars.

If you go re-read the post to which I responded, you'll see I was laughing at your claim that Stars and FT won't deal with the US much longer b/c of this.

I never even read the details of your "misfortune" and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Dude they tax everything in developed countries hell in UK if you make a buck they want you to kickback 50 cents, here its more like 25-30 cents that way we can afford to bailout Wall St CEOs who cost their investors their life savings and car companies that pay 80 hr to unionized high school dropouts to make cars that no one wants to buy

So basically, you deposited via e-Check, lost the money while it was clearing, then your bank may have frozen all transactions from the processor so in essence Stars didn't get their money?

If the above is the case, it would be best to write Stars an email and settle with Moneygram, not only is it the right thing to do, you risk having your account closed if you don't. If you were expecting a payout that was frozen, wouldn't you expect PokerStars to accommodate you with some other form of payment?
I lost a portion of my deposit from a few MTT that I played that evening... didn't play a few days (while all of this was going on i guess...) logged back on to play and saw that I had a negative balance... I read the email I receieved saying how they can't remove my funds so they have taken back all that I deposited and if I had a negative balance then I owed them the money which they will continue trying to get once a month. It was telling me to re-deposit the money back via alternatives, and if that wasn't an option not to worry that they were working to fix the issue...

I just picked up an all access gift card that isn't allowing me to register right now (I'll give it a few hours b4 calling customer service...) to pay off the 43 bucks though...

I don't wanna have them dealing with my bank anymore

haha I'm only in college and in all honesty the bank account is only used for online transactions (pay pal, gambling, and whatever I buy on the internet...) I occasionally withdraw from an ATM but for the most part I keep a few grand in there for my online needs... and keep the rest stored in random spots throughout my pad...

I pay in cash everywhere I go in real life... (I don't live in a dangerous area and paying in cash is just how I was brought up...)

but I agree, keeping one separate for gambling is probably the best idea...

I guess I should care, but I find myself not caring a whole lot. Could be because poker players separated themselves - from sports bettors - by making their legal case against the internet legislation for themselves only. They couldn't keep the ranks closed, so why should sports bettors care about their misfortune?

I think all the media coverage on WSOP makes poker more mainstream. We are not going to see a series of sports betting tournament on ESPN any time soon. Perception is everything.

If they are seizing poker funds today, they'll be seizing sportsbetting funds tomorrow. This is definitely something sports bettors should be very concerned about.

How is there a way for us to withdraw funds from a sportsbook without having to worry about it being seized?

I would be astonished if offshore books still held money in US banks, but I suppose anything is possible.
