I think BigDaddy might be right about the first half bet...but I took +21. I cashed Clemson big last yr on Ohio State in the playoffs. They're a little overrated imo. 5 road games last year and 3 were within a TD.

That is the kind of data that sounds good but weren't all three of those against teams that regularly challenge them for the conference championship? And, I believe two of those were ranked in the top 10?

A better statement would be, last year OSU beat IU by 21 points at OSU and IU is a much improved team this year.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad bet. But as enticing as it is, this is the kind of bet I lose regularly enough to stay away from.

haven't read everything but good analysis......

to me, it's a bad number to play, not quite big enough ......... basically not big enough for bad door cover. sort of that no-man's land with indiana with no chance of winning or keeping it reasonably close but OSU wont let up with a 20 to 28 point lead and allow a garbage TD.

i think i like OSU ATS alot here......... not sure what to think of indiana hating ex-coach angle. my inclination is it isn't worth anything. lots of returning starters is good, but that's completely different argument.

The Manning Passing Academy is no joke. Its a decent angle to look for with returning college QBs. Lagow looks 100x better then last year...even though he's an immobile slug

Yeah, that would be my best case scenario is we both win. I consider all bets lost until they are won. But yeah, not looking good for me right now. OSU needs to just start pounding it. Forget the pass, just start pushing them around, that might help a little.

But right now, it's looking like I'm gonna lose. IU receivers too big and strong for OSU corners. OSU better start bringing some blitzes.

No biggie though. I've been doing it for the last seven years. I've taken hits like this before (Appalachian State at Michigan is the first one to come to mind). I never go too big early in the season, need teams to show themselves before I bet the farm. Won't phase me or make me desperate.

What a difference a half made. Indy looked fantastic in that first half but collapsed in the 2nd half.

This will be the tune for OSU all season long. Slow first half but pound em out in the 2nd half with depth.

Indy's passing game will be hard to game plan week to week as well. That should mean that they will be good bets in the 1st half of most games. They'll jump out early but slowly fade with these quick, no huddles that wears out their defense.

Indiana will be a great target against teams that lack a pass rush. Give this lego kid time and he can put it in the right spots for his awesome receivers to go make plays.

Big problem with Indiana's gameplan....if you hurry up and they hurry up then depth becomes huge and Ohio State wins that 100% of the time. If they ate more clock on offense in the 1st half then their D wouldn't be so worn out. No huge dog is going to win a 4 hour game

But the flipside of that is that without hurry-up mode, their offense probably wasn't going to be as effective as it was at times in this game. The quickened pace neutralized OSU's pass rush providing Indiana with some schematic edge until it didn't.
