I make this thread in honor of a movie i saw last night, Paul Blart Mall Cop. Here are some aweful movies.

When I consider a question like this, I always feel it can't just be straight-up awful. It must have some pretense of greatness. It helps if it has been Oscar nominated or had a lot of of idiots praising it.
My short list:
1) Moulin Rouge
2) The English Patient
3) My Big Fat Greek Wedding
EDIT - on re-reading the thread title I should add, while I did start watching all of those, I did not last to the end on 1 & 2. So that may or may not qualify them as movies I have seen.

I Actually thought Dan in Real Life was pretty good. It was over the top sarcastic and the uncomfortable situations that he was in always make me laugh...I thought it was a pretty smart movie...

Without a doubt the worst movie I've ever seen is Hot Rod, I rented it at one of those $1 a day machines and I almost called them up demanding a refund on principle, they claim to have spent 20 million on that movie and after watching it I really feel an investigation should be done as I could've put that pile of dump film together easily for a mil, I simply don't believe anywhere close to 20 mil could have been spent unless they used diamond film

The last two movies that had me say "Oh no, no, you can't be doing this to me" and look at the list of everyone involved in the production so I purposely avoid them at parties:
The Forgotten, with Julianne Moore. Starts as a pretty decent drama/mystery story, then that black bitch gets sucked into the sky. Utter stupidity ensues.
The Fountain, with Hugh Jackman space-traveling in a bubble. Sappy shit mixed with poeticized sci-fi. Absolute abomination.

The two worst movies ive ever seen, but people swear they are good are semi pro and nacho libre. Both with the worst plots and just terrible movies that try way to hard to be funny

Yeah, I saw that when it came out but I think I went into immediate denial about it and never thought about it since. I love Julianne Moore so much but what was that all about? A big elaborate rigamarole to make the point that a mother's love for a child is quite something? Was that it?
Kind of reminds me of the move The Fifth Element in some ways. You sit through the whole thing to learn that the fifth element is in fact . . . wait for it . . . love! Awwwwwww.
But speaking of Julianne Moore, I really do think she's great - probably my favorite actor if I was pressed to name someone - but she has been in a few movies in the last couple years that I might consider for a list like this. Adding:
I'm Not There
Blindness
To her great credit, she is willing to take chances. No question about that.

Also I have to add the movie Across The Universe. For the sake of full disclosure I will admit I only watched about 20 minutes of it before declaring it impossibly bad. But it had a established a very definite pattern and I feel sure it did not get better.

True, that was bad, but The Fifth Element gets a pass IMO cause 1) it didn't take itself seriously 2) it was aesthetically interesting, like The Cell and other trippy movies.
The Forgotten had none of that... looked like it was botched mid-way through, as if the screenwriter had a mental breakdown and his nerdy 10-year-old son took over the ending. Aliens!

I thought Napolean Dynomite was awful too, fell asleep the first time, once the cliche lines were being spun around in every direction in everyday life, it grew on me.

Same here. First viewing was completely awkward and I didn't get it. Then I saw the actor in a couple interviews, rewatched the movie and laughed my ass off.

Yeah I wasn't really trying to say The Fifth Element should be on the list. I was just reminded of it because of the similar cheeseball theme gone haywire.

Different strokes for different folks, and all that rot. Spaceballs and The Fifth Element are movies I enjoyed.
My list of worst would start with The Babe (John Goodman's portrayal of Babe Ruth) and Pulp Fiction, though I know many will tell me I'm crazy to list that one.
