#5855Have you done your research? Where are you getting ALL HYPE from? They are doing gaming now, they are doing rental bikes now, they are building a tech team now. Any coin can be said to have hype but Tron is actually using the coin in real world applications. I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone but when someone says hype, they should at least explain what hype their talking about?Originally posted by CrusherrrI rode TRX from 3c to 10c the first time but this Justin Sun is all hype. Not sure what to think of Tron at the moment.
Didn't you say you held TRX? Hypocrite much? The only hate is coming from you. You couldn't wait to throw shade. Congratulations...Originally posted by PaperTrail07All this TRX talk....hmmmmm where is all the long term holders...wheres all the hate now LOL...Comment -

#5856good read, Mac.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeBoy, you're really going out on a limb... Haha, just kidding.
Most people have very little vision. They can't see things where they want them to be, they only see what is present now. Most people would be very successful, if they only trusted themselves and stop second guessing. In everything they do, not just buying coins. "Where there is no vision, the people perish".
Other side of the coin, so to speak, is sometimes people see how they "want things to be" even if it means a disregard for reality.
I'm not going to get all philosophical here. My point and opinion right now is I think crypto buyers are rushing back in to buy too soon. Definitely hard to time it perfectly. But usually the price settles somewhere....is that today after some serious downdraft? It's been only a day. We've been conditioned over the past month or two of market movement to see wild price swings and huge rebounds happened instantly.....but what happens if price levels keep stepping down....8k...6k...5k bitcoin...? Potentially a lot of bag holders.Comment -

#5857Nothing wrong with a paper wallet as long as you don't...Originally posted by DOM_TorettoWhy the nano ledger S? What would be wrong with say just a plain old paper wallet.
- Lose the paper and not have a backup
- Have the paper burn in a fire
- Use a hacked computer to generate the paper that someone can steal
- Have a disgruntled spouse, GF or family member find said paper and rob you blind
- You get dementia and can't remember where or what the paper is for
- You drop down dead and your spouse, GF or family member cannot gain access to your funds
The Nano S Ledger and Trezor are expensive as shit now. They used to be like $25 each, now they're selling for $300. Talk about supply and demand. If you lose them, you can easily recover which is a plus but there's a few desktop applications that are becoming just as good.Comment -

#5859I don't care if BTC goes to $5k or even $1k tomorrow. If it takes a huge dump, I'm buying more. I've bought at $16k, so why wouldn't I buy at $1k? I'm not thinking short term. I'm thinking 10 years from now, while most are thinking next week. If you are trying to time this market, you have little vision IMO. I don't care where BTC is today. I know where it's going tomorrow, 5 years from now, 10 years, 20 years from today. Our kids aren't going to balance checkbooks. That's nonsense. They most likely won't even use cash. As the world becomes more global, they will need global currencies. And they will need it digitally. If my son wants to sell merchandise to Europe, Asia, India, Africa, etc., what is the best way for him to get paid? Right now there's a lot of kinks to be worked out but bottom line, it does not make economical sense to use ****, **, Amex, wire, **, **, etc. A decentralized coin WILL BE the best way. My wife runs our event planning company. We take a lot of paypal payments that are very costly. What do you think will happen in the next few years? We'll start offering alternate ways to pay. Crypto will eventually be an option. That's a no brainer. A friend of mine asked me a few weeks ago, how can he pay his employees in BTC. Well, we're not there yet, but it's coming. Do you think companies may have an incentive to reduce state, local payroll taxes, sales tax, usage tax, etc?Originally posted by hotcrossgood read, Mac.

This technology makes TOO MUCH sense to not believe in it. Encrypted ledger transactions that can take seconds not days is a no brainer. This is just the beginning. There's so many every day uses for this technology. Will there be bumps along the way? Absolutely. Governments, banks, institutions are not going to give up their piece of the pie without a fight. They will create confusion, disruptions, fear and eventually try to corner the market themselves but it won't work in the end for them because people are not stupid.Comment -

#5865You can get a Trezor at the website for 111 Euros and pay for it with Bitcoin. I think it comes out to around $155 USD (value) including fees but it won't ship till February. Add 20 more Euros if you want it faster (5 days). I bought one and opted to wait.

#5866The secondary market price is making me consider selling the Nano S I'm getting Tuesday. Bought one in December through Salt Lending for 5 Salt tokens which was only $40 at the time and they finally sent it out, but with the secondary market prices due to the manufacturer's back order, it's tempting to sell.Originally posted by Mac4LyfeThe Nano S Ledger and Trezor are expensive as shit now. #5870Oh yeah. Most people are buying in like placing a bet at Ceasar's Palace. They can't wait to run up to the pay window to collect their winnings. I told a friend of mine last year to invest $50 a month (he spends $150/mo on trading cards) but he didn't. He would have made a really nice return had he did it. I have one account that I started with $500 that hit $9k in the last year and is around $6k now. Most all my other accounts have done the same thing. I rolled my BTP winnings last year and it's skyrocketed even after this dip. I've never been good at timing any market. As soon as I sell, a stock quadruples. I just buy long term in markets I believe in and over time make money. I bought into Apple back in the 80's (hence my username). I still buy today. That stock has seen some wild ass swings like crypto. I remember when it plummeted to a couple bucks when Jobs left. I lost a lot of money that day (people were jumping off ledges)but it came back with a vengeance. Every day I hear people say how Apple is about to go belly up. Warren Buffet bashed Apple and crypto last week. I rarely listen to experts. I look at what everyday people are doing. When I see people sending Monero to family in Mexico, that gets my attention.Originally posted by hotcrossMac again I agree with much of what you're saying but most people in this market are thinking waaaay short term. #5873You can already buy almost any coin for fiat at Yobit.Originally posted by hotcrossthey are all tied / "paired" to bitcoin or ether....right?
we see those special cases when one or two or a handful of coins rise on their own, for awhile.
soon there will be some exchanges where fiat can be used to buy altcoins directly. That will change the pairing paradigm.Comment -
