What's interesting about this sell-off... Gemini's price is usually lower than everyone else's as the going rate for BTC. Currently Gemini is $50-$60 higher than most tickers. So, you have to question a lot of things at the moment.

People panic every time is makes a retrace, but what they dont realize it cant just go straight up forever. People will start to panic soon that bought it at 7000-7500 when its below 6000 again. 100,000 people signed up at Coinbase in one day and probably bought the top.
Retraces are a normal part of the market. We went from 3000 to 1800, 5000 to 3000, and now its time (after the fork) to do it again.

If stock never went down, there would be no stock market. Same for BTC. I just buy the dips and don't think about selling. I think BTC gets to $20k in the next 2 years, most likely sooner. Eventually, we're looking at a $100k currency. Anyone panicking is investing too much money than they can afford.

You can do. Mine is all on an exchange, but it's less than $5k and I'm mainly using it to trade in and out of other coins. Keeping it on the exchange makes it simple to trade.
Coinbase is considered relatively "safe". There are others. Mine is country specific (BTCMarkets in Aust).
I wouldn't leave any amount on an exchange long term if I wasn't comfortable losing it. Shit unlikely to happen but it still happens.
For large amounts probably best to take it off the exchange and put in offline wallet.

GDAX only does (Original) Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ether. Can't do Bitcoin Cash. Bittrex has a much wider variety of cryptocurrencies you can exchange between. I don't think you can deposit USD onto their site and can only exchange cryptocurrencies.

I don't have a Bittrex account but from what I see, it looks like there's no way to deposit or withdraw US currency so if you're ready to cash out, looks like you'll need to convert to one of the three and send back to GDAX and sell.

At 6420 now, market trends for a 5% drop at most which if you're holding long term, shouldn't have you on suicide watch as the worst of the 10% storm is most likely over.. should stabilize around this point for a while before shooting back to 7k+ In the coming week or two.. wish I could screen shot the chart I've been looking at so I can show you exactly the trends I'm following

Hard to tell... anything further less than 5700 would be a gift at this point. The last two days have been an overreaction to the surge in Bitcoin cash, so as that market corrects itself some more, we should see BTC stabilize as well. I'd be surprised to see another drop over 5%
