I know MJ, my uncle was his golf instructor. I've played blackjack with him and Pete Rose on occassions. MJ is one of the most win possessed person I've ever seen. In a trip to the Bahamas about 8 years ago he would get up at 5am and play 3 rounds of golf until the late afternoon. Eat dinner and be on the tables from 8 pm until 2am and do it all over again for 3 weeks straight. How many people you know can do that every single day? I'm dead after one round of golf let alone 3. I can hit the tables hard for about a day and a half but am toast after that. This dude can do it hard for weeks. I don't know about now but he was possessed about winning.

I think some of you are either too young to remember Jordan from 1991 thru 1998 or you need to watch some game tape of Jordan. Lebron is nowhere near the level Jordan achieved. Let him prove himself in the Playoffs and the Finals and then we will see!

Threads like this are pointless...
There is no way you could say Lebron is better than Jordan unless they play in the exact same team/era/situations and then compare performances, but that will never happen.
Doesnt matter what happens this year, or next year or for the rest of Lebrons career, bottom line is he is a great player, but you cant say hes better/worse than Kobe, Jordan, Shaq, anyone... Its impossible.

Yes, because 2 rounds in the playoffs tell the whole story
LeBron faced the "great competition" too during the season, and Kobe also faced the "bum teams". You seem to have forgotten that.

Lebron is just a big fast strong dude. Most of his defenders are usually smaller than him, giving him easy drive to the basket. Who was guarding Lebron during this 1st round series against detroit? ....skinny weak ass Rick Hamilton. Who was guarding Lebron during this 2nd round serious against Hawks? ....small weak ass Mo Evans. Put Lebron up against Shane Battier and see what happens. Put Lebron up against Ron Artest and see what happens. Now, put the young Jordan against Battier and Artest and see Jordan owning them. Enough said, Jordan owns.

Anyone who thinks Lebron is even close to MJ is FING retarded!!! I grew up in Chicago and had the wonderful privilege to watch the best basketball player of all time. As far as Johnnyv saying Lebron is better at same age, that is grossly wrong. MJ's teams in the 80's were not very good at all and go check out MJs stats from 1987 when he was 25 years old. 32.5 PPG, 8 Reb, 8 assts, 2.9 steals and 85% free throws. He damn near averaged a triple double that year and his numbers are better than Lebron in every category. This comparison is a complete joke, I watched MJ play just about every single game of his career and have watched lebron play quite a bit. MJ is way better and is the best player of all time and the most clutch athlete in the history of Earth. One more thing, the teams back when Jordan was winning titles every year were way tougher than they are now. Think about all the good teams in the east in the 80s and 90s: Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Orlando, Atlanta, Philly, Indiana and the Knicks. Now the east is a joke, there are only 3 really good teams now and the talent is much more watered down now. This debate should have been over before it even started, Lebron could win 10 championships and he still can't do anything more than carry Jordan's gym bag around for him and fetch him some gatorade or something. CASE REALLY CLOSED!!!!!!

The west is way tougher than the east, and the Lakers owned everyone including beating Cleveland both times they played this year. Also the Bulls teams with Rodman would just crush this Cleveland team in a playoff series!!! Cleveland would be lucky to win one game.

It is very possible, being clutch is clearly evident no matter what era you play in and Jordan was the most clutch player ever and on top of that he was a great free throw shooter where Lebron is average at best. Kobe is the most clutch player playing right now, if I had to pick anyone to be on my team in a tight 4th quarter it would be him without a doubt over Lebron.

Hey Richboy, can you say Jordan is better than let's say most of the average or weaker guards in the NBA now? If you can, how is that possible if they don't play in same era? According to your stupid point Jordan could possibly have been in his prime in this era and be the worst player in the league. Point being you can clearly tell by his complete and utter domination over tougher competition and his incredibly strong will to win that there is just no comparison and there never will be.

Wow you people are clueless, I don't care how good you are, you cannot beat the elite teams without a solid cast around you and the Bulls were not very good when they lost to the Pistons.

Do these Lebron lovers own ESPN Classics? I would advise them to go watch some games with Jordan back in the day. If u happen to see something flying high over everyone else it isn't a plane. It is Jordan.

I'm gonna say this again. Once LeBron gets even his 5th ring then we can start having this discssion. The dfense nowadays is like ice cream compared to the kind of defense that was allowed back in those days. The referees let a game be a game back then, and people got hurt trying to go to the basket
