I think the ones that have outright dominated and could be put on the list w/o argument are Jimmy Johnson, Tiger, Pac Man, and Swoops (even though I am not too sure about Swoops)..

now that you bozos and homers are done joking around... if we are talking about current players who make paychecks, here are the real answers:
nfl- manning (smartest guy on the field and calls half the plays, how is he not the best) nba- lebron (just won mvp, how do you dispute) mlb- puhols (from an offensive pov, he is the most intimidating man at the plate now) golf- tiger tennis- nadal (age has just caught up to federer a bit) hockey- ovechkin (not really my sport so this is and educated guess) boxing- mayweather (pacman is a close 2nd, but since mayweather never really retired and was undefeated, he controls the label imo. we will find out soon enough. its one or the other. mma- fedor (any other opinions on this and you simply dont know shit about the sport, sorry) soccer- c ronaldo (isnt ronaldihno getting old?) not really my thing, just another educated guess here wnba- candice parker nascar- dunno really. one of those Busch kids or Gordon right now
sorry, there arent any players from denver, chicago or new york on the list

soccer- cristiano ronaldo-watch him dominate the game tmrw
basketball-lebron james-bryant has had gasol and he absolutely blew it last nba finals, lebron is way better this year tho he can't win it all cuz he doesn't have another all-star like kobe
btw nice choke job by kobe against the rockets i dont care if he had strep throat hes the most overrated sack of sh*t in the nba today

That's a bit over the top don't you think? Quite a few people think Silva is at least in the coversation here. I think GSP is as good a pound for pound fighter in the world. And despite what you say, I know a little bit about this sport. Thanks.

im sure know the sport. these guys have all been beaten and fight guys within say 20lbs of their own weight. the competition, (besides bj penn where there was a huge weight diff) just isnt there for either guy as of late. fedors never lost (that was a bullshit stoppage due to a cut that didnt even effect him that is the blemish on his record) and he fights the biggest and baddest people in the world. size doesnt matter to him. silva and gsp are good at their weights but to be fair, fedor is exactly what the experts says he is...the baddest man on the planet.
sorry if i sounded like an ass earlier. i thought i was gonna have to do yardwork at the girlfriends and have been in a bad mood bout it. well it rained so fukk her..ahhaha

Well yeah, nobody in their right mind is going to take Silva or GSP to beat Fedor. We're talking pound for pound. GSP is a phenomenal athlete with a relentless work ethic and limitless talent. He dominates wrestlers, he dominates strikers, he dominates submission artists. I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb in saying he is THE most well-rounded fighter in the world. Of course he wouldn't be able to handle a beast like Fedor becasue Fedor is just too powerful. There's some chatter about Silva coming up to fight Fedor which would be a mistake. I would LOVE to see GSP and Silva meet though. People might think that's as crazy a proposition, but I think GSP would give him all he could handle even if he's giving up a few pounds. He's so strong for his size and quicker and god forbid I say it....a better grappler.

NFL - T.Brady (Has more rings than Manning)
MLB - A.Puljos (He's just awesome)
NBA - Kobe (Won the MVP last year and was a close second to Bron-Bron this year)
NHL - S.Crosby (I hate the Russians)
NCAA Football - Sam Bradford (Big, tall, strong, smart, and will be #1 overall pick in 2010 draft)
Golf - Tiger (not only now, but he's the best ever)
Soccer - Christian Ronaldo (He crys to much, but is awesome with the ball and has one hell of a shot)
WNBA - I'm confused
Auto Racing - Richard Petty?
Boxing - Don't watch the corrupted sport
MMA - Haven't got into MMA yet.
Tennis - R.Nadal (He owns Federrer's face)

havent heard the chatter of silva to meet fedor. theres 40-50lbs difference there and anderson could get seriously hurt bad. thats a bad rumor some moron started that will never take place. i understand, but i still dont agree with either guy being in the best p4p talk. both have losses on the record and both fight guys their own weight. fedor is still considered by all to be undefeated and he fights guys anywhere from his weight to 100+ lbs. nobody else can do that and win. p4p goes to fedor because he can fight anyone at any size imo.
anyway, im with you. i think the best that we have to look forward to is gsp putting on some weight and moving up to maybe a non-title fight with silva. unfortunately, i see silva doing the same thing to gsp that gsp did to bj. i think he hydrates up to being much much larger than gsp and just being too big for him. would expect a great fight though.

The theory is that Silva walks around at about 215, and apparently there are some rumors from his camp that he'd be willing to take the challenge. I think it's crazy too, but these guys can be delusional.
As far as losses go, I don't put every egg in that basket. Yeah, they've both got losses but that happens in this sport. Fedor can be beaten. He just hasn't yet. Maybe he won't be, but he's not invincible. Everybody can have an off night. Anybody can get caught. I don't think GSP has reached his potential yet. He's twice the fighter he was when he first broke onto the scene. Silva has peaked, imo.

By all rights, the answer should be Kevin Martin. He won the Canadian championship the last 2 years in a row - undefeated. It's mind-boggling considering the fields.
And he won last year's world championships.
But he lost this year's world championships on the last rock of the gold medal game in one of the most puzzling turn of events the curling world has ever seen.
So even though Martin would still be the odds-on favorite in any match over any team in the world right now, you do have to acknowledge the world champion, David Murdoch of Scotland.

yeah, gsp is prime( he got so much better really fast too. it has crossed my mind that he did some illegal stuff for a short while). silva just doesnt have the competition anymore. nobody can challenge him and that weight class is just a weird one. thing about fedor is that he has gotten caught, he has gotten slammed and he has gotten punished by a few guys, but he always wins. where the others get beat, he comes out ahead. im sure age will catch up to him before too long and he will lose, but we have all seen fights where he looks so bad and 5 seconds later, he is the winner. im not a big fan of silva so i hope he takes an asswhoopin every time he gets in the ring.

if we are going by past or present, Dan Marino was the best QB. NO QB was better at his role than marino.
