reno, how can this remind you of your childhood? you didn't even grow up with hockey.. this song reminds me of my childhood cause he says how we idolized Guy and Larry.. and that was true, they were my idols, esp Guy Lafleur, and he also says how we wore their #'s and we thought we were as good as them growing up when we played hockey and i spent my whole childhood with a hockey stick in my hand and the #10 on my back thinking i was guy lafleur, so this song hits me home much more than you because you are from colorado and hockey is not a sport you grew up with and idolizing your hockey heros, which is what this song is about..

In my time it was Kharlamov, Mihailov,Petrov, Tretiak. As a kid I used to know all the Canadian stars from the 70's too. Though I could hardly name them now.
I'm reminded how fun it was to play outside and think about the game we would be watching later. How sad that those times seem like light years ago never to be repeated.

i am not delusional.. this is NOT Detroit, St Louis or Atlanta. this is NOT harlem, or Compton. i have lived here all my life and have never seen a gun on anyone.. or a gun, period. it is rare i hear of any murder on the news. we might get 2 a month.. it is rare. montreal is very safe city and cleanest in N.America..
