You are nothing but a Socialist Pig, who does not want to work for a living, but wants the government to take from those who do work and make a good living and give to ignorant arseholes like yourself. You think that you are a tough guy, but in reality, you are nothing but a lying little meow. People like you think that you can take over the world. Guess what. You cannot. Just ask your friends, the terrorists who reside in this nation. Most of them eventually end up dead. I can't wait to see morons like yourself take on Hillary. How will it feel to get your arse handed to you by a 68 year old broad who'se hair color has obviously affected her brain?Comment -

#184word! bernie! bernie! bernie!
LAS VEGAS -- Directly across the Las Vegas Strip from the Venetian, the lavish hotel and casino built by wealthy political donor Sheldon Adelson, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders rallied more than 700 supporters here Friday to join his revolution against the billionaire class whose greed he says is crushing the United States.“Today we live in the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, but the vast majority of the American people do not know that, do not feel that, because almost all of that wealth today rests in the hands of a tiny few," Sanders said. "What we are saying to the billionaire class is, 'Your greed, which is destroying this country, has got to end.'"
Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont who describes himself as a socialist but caucuses with Democrats, took direct aim at Adelson, who together with his wife, Miriam, spent roughly $100 million to help elect Mitt Romney and other Republicans in 2012.
"People like Sheldon Adelson -- you know who he is! -- and the Koch brothers are now spending unbelievable sums of money," Sanders said. When he argued that such political spending had created an "oligarchy" and wrecked "the foundations of American democracy," the crowd stood on its feet and chanted, "Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!"
Bernie Sanders, in his own words(2:21)
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a White House contender in 2016, is known for his stances on budget issues and war. Here are his takes on Obamacare, Social Security and more. (Julie Percha/The Washington Post)
Sanders received a raucous reception here Friday, with repeated standing ovations and loud cheers. The hour was early, especially by Las Vegas standards -- 9 a.m. -- but hundreds of people, young and old, streamed in, sipping coffee and munching on muffins and breakfast cake.
The Sanders campaign received so many responses from locals wanting to see him that they relocated his town hall meeting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas to a venue that could accommodate hundreds more -- the ballroom at Treasure Island, a hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
On Saturday, Sanders is scheduled to hold an event in Denver, where campaign officials said they already have received about 7,000 RSVPs. If they all show up, it would be perhaps the largest rally any candidate in either party has staged thus far in the 2016 campaign cycle.
Sanders argued that the reception he saw here in Las Vegas and in other recent stops, from Iowa to Minnesota to New Hampshire, shows that his message is resonating with progressive activists.
“This campaign is about you, your kids, our parents, our grandparents," he said. "It is about having the courage to do something which is pretty hard, and that is to say very loudly and clearly that enough is enough, that this government, our country belongs to all of us and not just a handful of billionaires."
Climate change is a core theme of Sanders's pitch to voters, but he added a new line to his stump speech, referring to Pope Francis's call to action, issued Thursday from the Vatican, that the burning of fossil fuels and human activity contribute to climate change.
"As Pope Francis reminded us yesterday, climate change is real; climate change is caused by human activity; climate change is already having devastating impact in America and around the world," Sanders said. He argued that it is an "international embarrassment" that some U.S. senators from the Republican Party continue to deny climate change science.Comment -

#186Just saw the ole' dude on Bill Maher. I can see why his platform resonates with the demo base for votes....free college, free daycare, free health care, free everything and throw in pad sick leave and shorter work weeks and just walk in off the street and demand whatever salary you want at KFC and Jack in the Box now because you're worth it kid....sounds nice but there is a reason he's spent decades as an elected official....it's 'free' to him because he tells the rest of us how to spend out money and it pays his salary with that 'free' money.
He sounds like the guy running for class president in jr high 'elect me...and I'll add an extra recess period and replace the cafeteria food with McDonalds!' And open book tests for ALL...no more studying....vote for me guysComment -

Free college - What would happen to the 'best' professors....would the top talent be forced to teach and Backwater State community college or stay at the more productive institutions and allow for that merit based competition?
Free Child Care and pre K - Trust me it sucks shelling out $400 a month for that pre K experience but while its absolutely worth it....there is a huge disparity in the teachers who work there vs a random daycare....staff has degrees and higher vs the girl who got fired from her job at the tanning salon but just LOVES watching kids all day i.e. playing on her phone and throwing the kids in front of a tv or letting them just run around outside while she chit chats about the 50 Shades of Grey books with the other girls
Health Care - While I agree the insurance industry and medical device and big pharma all have major issues in screwing up the policy models....comes back to the professor philosophy...good service comes at a price....while everyone should have basic access to care..95% of us shouldn't have to pay for the 5% who use up the majority of the services based on poor life choices of smoking and diabetes etc. I'm not saying let a person coughing up a lung at the ER door just die....I'm simply saying we should have tweaked the system we use to have vs overhauling it. Making the 90%+ shuffle policies and not get to choose what best fits them all so some $$ can be added to that bill to subsidize the 5% of people who didn't buy a policy to begin with.
Salary and wages...thats a dead horse issue in here...of course it sounds great to just pick an arbitrary amount of money out of the air and then force it on people but thats coming from the very people who have never had to account for payroll and labor cost in a business before....the bogeyman of Walmart or BkofAma is always used by saying 'THEY can AFFORD it' but the other 80% of small businesses cannot...so again its back to trying to do the mass punishment based on selective pieces of data.Comment -

i'd love to hear what changed his mind into running as a democrat. my guess: obv because we haven't built a third party and if he ran as one, it'd be nader 2.0.
i would also love to know what changed his mind on this "no substantial change is possible until we reign in the media oligarchy". this was before 24 hour cable news, fox, etc.Comment -

#190Itchy, if politicians weren't bought like puerto rican whores, there's wouldn't be an 18 trillion debt (20 trillion by the time King Obama finally calls the movers). How the USA wasted that money is a list too long to talk about. Nothing to show for it. Nothing. No new bridges. Nothing. Just wasted money year after year after year like scumbag's sports bets.
Politicians have convinced you that it should be expensive. Some try and tell you the Rich need to pay more and that will solve it. None of which is true. penetrating liars.
Healthcare and education should be free or next to free. The is no excuse that employees of the people (aka politicians) have done this to the country. No one is in jailed or fired? Instead, they are re-elected and given self-appointed raises. LMFAO! What a job. As long as you don't get caught with an under-age boy or twitter pictures of your rooster, you got a good paying job. And even if you do those things, all you need to do is wait a year or two, appologize again, tell them how much you've changed and thousands will actually vote for you again. If you are lucky enough, you will get elected again so you can screw up for another 4-years or so and put the country in further debt.
Go Trump.Last edited by DwightShrute; 06-20-15, 06:21 PM.Comment -

You need to stop the spending first because you can even talk about more taxes. If you taxed every rich person 100% you would hardly put a dent in the debt. But so many people don't care about facts. They will continue getting their news from Bill Maher and Jon Stewart. Its hopeless to talk to them.

#201Interesting article over at BI today http://www.businessinsider.com/greec...rnments-2015-6
Mentioning the problems in Greece regarding socialist govt's woes we are seeing now. They look great on paper and sound awesome but once implemented "...they always run out of other people's money" to fund the promises.
This week should be chaos in Greece by all signs unless they eek out another bailout deal to tide them over. Bad timing for Hillary here in the U.S. as she just rolled out a new pitch regarding universal pre-k and other socialistic ideas like Bernie has been talking about....when asked about how it would be funded her communications team brought back an old Obama term used a few years ago "it will be funded by 'revenue enhancements'..." which in grown up talk means higher taxes yet again.Comment -
