I would say it is probably much easier as a solo operation but I wouldn't say he doesn't trust his buddy. That's where things are hazy for sure. If he knew his buddy wasn't able to be trusted then this would be a no brainer solo smoke show.

I think if he were connected perhaps this would be an easier decision but considering they have been in jail for a while now I highly doubt they have the means to run to south america or canada. The fact that they have eluded folks for this long is quite surprising. I am sure people would jump at a 100k reward to turn these guys in. The question is how much jail time do they do if caught not dead?

UPDATE: Police find sticks with marshmallows by the camp fire, also wrappers from chocolate and graham crackers, Trying to figure out how the prisoners smuggled these items into prison, had hid them until they escaped.They must have had help. Any one who bought smores in the past ten years is now under investigation.
