It was a catch.
So Dez Bryant makes a catch and takes 3 steps before hitting the ground.. now it isnt

#76Everything you say after he took three steps is irrelevant. He never took three steps with possession of the ball.Originally posted by d2betsThere's plenty disputable. The question is whether the 3 steps and a stretch were part of the act of the catch or were after he had already made the catch. This act of the catch and when the act ends and a football move begins, is not defined anywhere. That's a fact. So it's open to interpretation. My interpretation is that he caught the ball and THEN took 3 steps and a stetch and that the stretch was separate from the act of the catch. You can say otherwise. But it's a legit debate and dispute. Period.Comment -

#77Dude was bobbling it through these supposed first two steps everyone is referring to. Unless he is a harlam globetrotter there is no reason for the ball to ever be rolling up his forearm/bicep and be considered possession. The stretch on the other hand is made during solid possession, so whether you want to consider that a football move seperate to the act of falling down is the biggie.Comment -

#78And again, we will need to agree to disagree on that. I saw him secure the catch and gain possession as the first foot hit the ground. He then took two additional steps, and most importantly, a stretch. I did not see the ball the move or come free until after the stretch.Originally posted by meader99Everything you say after he took three steps is irrelevant. #79We can agree to disagree, but in no way shape or form did he secure and gain possession of the ball with his "first step." I will give him his "second step" as one step. His "third step" was his foot dragging the ground as he was falling. Because he was taking the catch to the ground, he had to maintain control throughout the process, which he clearly did not. We can all hate the rule, but they got the call right. Unlike the Dallas/Detroit game, you will not see any rebuttals from the league office.Originally posted by d2betsAnd again, we will need to agree to disagree on that. No excuse for what happened by the NFL. Cowboys worked hard and together to try and make it this year.

#86it doesnt matter if hes a cowboy hater or not. based on the rules it was not a catch. its very cut and dry here.Originally posted by opie1988Archie....I understand it's a rule. And no amount if arguing is gonna change things.
But the fact that yankee jew prikk jerkoff Mike Perieira has an opinion on it doesn't mean a motherfukkin thing.
He's a Cowboy hater.
dez tried to extend the ball across the goal line before he had full control of the ball. as a result of him trying to score, the let the ball touch the ground when he did not have it fully secured
dez should have just secured the catch and went down on the 1 yard line. but no he had to be greedy and wanted to score the touchdownComment -
