Chargers USUALLY play Peyton and Broncos tougher than any other AFC team, but Flowers will probably miss this game because the short week probably doesn't give him time to pass the NFL concussion protocol. And Verrett was out last week and is questionable for this game. If he cannot go, then you'll have Manning passing against two backup cornerbacks. Not a good feeling for SD backers.

Chargers CB Brandon Flowers was forced from San Diego's Week 7 game against the Chiefs with a concussion, and will not return.


Flowers put a huge second-quarter hit on Jamaal Charles at the goal-line, but ended up taking the worst of it. Amazingly, Flowers was briefly allowed to continue playing before being pulled. He was officially ruled out in the third quarter.

The short week may not allow Flowers enough time to pass the NFL concussion protocol in order to suit up.

Chargers CB Jason Verrett (shoulder) is expected to miss Thursday's Week 8 game against the Broncos.


The short week isn't doing the Chargers' improved secondary any favors. Verrett will likely miss his second straight game, and fellow CB Brandon Flowers suffered a concussion on Sunday. It's not a good time for Peyton week.

Exactly. Check out my posts at TK, I'm with you 100%. I can see 30-17 easy, as banged up running game is the way they need to win and it's tough now; Matthews etc. They don't have the scenario they had last year. Maybe McCoy is that good though, who knows.

Not true. 2012 Denver won 30-23 and in 2013 SD won 27-20. The three previous meetings in Denver, Manning was not with Denver.

Could be I hope not they may not have to lean on there defense much if they can get there running game going to open up there passing game I think u may be overlooking rivers and company a little if they can keep Peyton off the field and I would imagine that will most likely be there game plan either way I'm hoping for a good reasonably close game no more complete blow out Thursday games would be nice I guess what I'm saying is I'd rather the bolts get beat by 10 than bye 21 even though I'd still be cryin at least it would be exciting
