How a father disciplines his son (as long as it's not overboard -- which this obviously wasn't) is none of our business. There's a 0 percent chance Peterson will go to jail and also a slim chance that he will be suspended more than a few games by the NFL.

This will all blow over within a few weeks; it'll quickly become old news.

Even JJ only threatened to blow Jeffy's head off. He never actually did it.

JJ learned that simply the act of holding the .45 to Jeffrey's head was enough to get his point across. He never had to actually get physical.

We could all learn a lot about parenting from JJ.

I question many posters in here that said they were hit and turned out fine. pavyracer made one of the creepiest vids of all time. Sitting in a dark room, mumbling and stuttering, and rocking back and forth. You have to think that the beatings he took caused that odd decision to publish that vid.

I wish I was hit with a switch in the buttocks. Instead I had the privilege to be hit with broomsticks, belts, shoes, coat hangers, etc. And all that while having my mouth stuffed with cayenne peppers not leaves.

AP's kid was very lucky. But I never rut my parents to the cops. I loved them for giving me everything I needed. And the beating made me who I'm today. A better man. You will never understand all the positive things that happened to my life because of the hitting.

Kids look up to you for protection and and a number of other things and you inflict pain....Not how i'd do it.
