you should never hit your kids period...look up the research it teaches them violence. It's funny so many people on various community message forums that are condoning Peterson's actions keep using the term "Spanking". Spanking is slapping a child around the buttocks with an open hand. Had Peterson only done this, I highly doubt anyone would be talking about this or even care.

I don't know if he intended to harm his kid or not, but what I do know is he has major impulse control problems and/or rage issues. Both of which should make it easy for a judge to not grant visitation rights unless he is heavily monitored.
