Might be accepting a new job
Lived in OKC all my life. Recently, I've been offered two jobs, one in SF and one in Seattle. Not sure where we'll be moving but it will be one of those two liberal, pansy ass cities.

    And I'm excited as hell.

Regardless, we'd live downtown or very close to it. This will also be very new to me. We're looking at renting for the first 6-12 months and then buying. I'm used to having a few acres, now I'm looking at 2BR apts unreal how expensive it is to live in those cities. Maybe I could get a part time gig here to make ends meet.

Anyways, I realize this is all pretty pointless for you guys but it's a pretty big move for Kraken.

Like KD, I've outgrown the smaller markets

SF is obviously a great city, but can you even find a place to rent that isn't going, at least some, put a dent in your salary?

Shouldnt the new gig compensate for the cost of living and then some? Unless youre unemployed now id rethink moving to a more expensive localle for less $.

I would go Seattle. Was offered a gig in San Fran a few years back and did a little research. Not my kind of city. Wasn't it twain who said the coldest winter I ever lived was the Summer I spent in San Francisco? Know others love that city and obviously won't be warmer in Seattle but the PAC northwest would be my pick over San Fran.

              Congrats either way kraken!!

I wouldn't worry about the liberalism. There are hippie douche liberals, normal people, and yippity yehaa minority hatin conservatives in every city in America. You'll find a way to fit in regardless.

The fans at the only 49ers game I ever went to reminded me of the fans at the only Broncos game I ever went to, plus a few more Asians.

One of the wive's daughters lives in Seattle. Waayyyyy expensive but she loves it. Property values are insane. Her hubby is pulling in 100-150 and they can only rent a house. She is though, a tattooed, fake tittied, over emotional, left of Pelosi, chick that makes Sybil look well balanced.

Gummo is making a very good point. Not sure how much money you want to spend on rent, but be prepared to pay a very heavy price for it.
In many parts of the city you now see people try to outbid each other on the rental...kinda like they do when buying a house.

San Fran blows in my opinion. Walking up giant fukkin hills everywhere you go. I'll never forget how we visited this Mexican food place, and they brought out this tiny ass bowl of tortilla chips. Literally like 6 fukkin chips in this bowl. So I finish them in about 90 seconds, and ask for some more. The waitress told me there's a small charge for extra chips. WHAT THE FUKK??? Also, everytime I ordered tea to drink, they asked me "hot or cold?". Do what? Who in the fukk orders hot fukkin tea at a fukkin restaurant??

                            Bunch of fukkin weirdos.

leaving tornado strewn OKC for earthquake prone no california. hmmn, seems you have a penchant for natural disaster high risk areas. maybe you should consider damascus, syria or minsk, ukraine if to increase your odds of your demise.

                                        Move to San Fran.

Will be that way either late this year/early next year for work.

We'll grab a few beers and discuss how backward/closed minded conservatives are.

And then hit up some gay clubs together as a couple of non-homo bros.

Lived in the Bay area for 2 years.. its an amazing place to live.. However Rent is out of Control in San Fran now.. and many people that I left behind there are saying its not the same city anymore.

Also look at San Jose and surrounding cities and think about driving to work. I love San Jose.

Slightly inappropriate question but to assess how viable these options are I have to ask:

How much per year? Does the wife work? Are there opportunities to advance in the workplace?

No problem if you tell me to fuk off as it is really none of my business
