Biggest knock on New Mexico and San Diego State is how badly the Mountain West has tanked the last few years. Remember last year the MWC was ranked ahead of some major conferences on many sets of power ratings and I think the conference won one tournament game.

I was so pissed when they tanked as a conference in March last year, especially when New Mexico lost to Harvard in the first round. They were a mid-major conference that was enjoyable to watch last year. I think Colorado St won a game before getting waxed in the second round and San Diego St lost to FGCU in the second round, which I think everyone was rooting for, including myself. I wanna say another team (UNLV or Boise St?) made it to the tourney as well and did nothing. But yea overall, the MWC did squat last year, and probably won't deliver this year as well.
