Nova benefitted from a depleted Big East. They are just a nice solid team. Nothing special.
New Mexico is a sleeper team right now. Ranked 21st currently but playing like a top 10 team.

They'd stand no chance against Kansas today. They caught a young immature team at the time who hadn't faced a press yet and they stole a win. If you watched that game though you'd know that Nova was on the verge of choking it. Little arcidiacono made a 3 in the corner that won them the game.

Lol. He's the engine that makes that team go. I didn't realize he was so good until a few weeks ago.
Carolina has so much raw athleticism but they can't really shoot. I prefer teams that get easy buckets so I like a UNC type team as opposed to a UConn who is so perimeter-oriented but I don't see Carolina making a run.

I called this way back in November before anyone even mentioned them....Watch out for the Virginia Cavaliers...they have all the tools to make a deep run...great point guard play with sensational freshman London Perrantes who shoots 43% from the perimeter, inside and outside all around game player in Joe Harris (who can dominate in the paint and shoots the 3 ball at 41%) and Malcolm Brogdon can sometimes score at will and also shoots the 3 at a 39% clip!......Another factor that makes the Cavs a very dangerous team is the fact that they can play both styles of offense...they can play full court and half court games...and Tony Bennett is one helluva coach!...Remember what he did at Washington ST....

New Mex and St Joes. Lobos set up great for tourney run, St Joes hitting best stride and will be battle tested in tough Atlantic 10. Have seen alot of UConn this year and feel like Napier just does not have alot of support. The 6' leads team in points, assts AND rebounds!

VCU I suppose would be a square sleeper. Another that might qualify is Oklahoma State. Going to be a 6-8 seed probably barring a Big 12 run, but I guarantee not too many teams will want to play them now. The whole Marcus Smart thing might wind up being the best thing that ever happened to this team.

I agree 100%, EaglesPhan!...OK ST with Marcus Smart in the lineup is a very dangerous team that is more than capable of beating any team in the country...

UCLA won't make it out of the first weekend....They rely on the 3 ball too much...and as we have seen time and time again during March Madness...Live by the sword, die by the sword.

say what? they have one player who shoots a lot of three's (coach's son) and about four others who can but dont shoot many
you got the wrong team pegged pal
they're well rounded with a 6'9" pg

It's wide open this year. No real dominant team. Florida and Wichita would be my bets. Ppl can clown on Wichy because they play in a shit conference, but they are actually a really good team.

Nmx and OU. Both teams can shoot well and have inside presence. They are the type of team that could lose their first game or make a Final 4 trip.

If Louisville is seeded fourth or lower (Lunardi has them as a FIVE-seed), they should be considered sleepers.

Biggest knock on New Mexico and San Diego State is how badly the Mountain West has tanked the last few years. Remember last year the MWC was ranked ahead of some major conferences on many sets of power ratings and I think the conference won one tournament game.

MWC perennially don't show up in the tournament. So many first (second round) exits.
