Gonna miss Kunitz, he was a solid piece to the puzzle for the Ducks winning the Stanley Cup..

Ducks are well on their way to becoming a no-name bad team that nobody cares about.
It will be interesting to see how fan support is once the Ducks start having losing seasons followed by more losing seasons.

All the bandwagon Ducks fans will come back over to the Kings' side when the Kings are making the playoffs and the Ducks are rebuilding...
DO NOT WANT.

there are like what, 5 or 6 teams in the NHL have have fan support. The rest of the teams just have a cultish following. Contract at least 1/3 of the NHL.

I'm going to scan my picture of me with Lord Stanley when I was a kid at the HHOF when it was on the CNE grounds.
I will make this my new avatar.

That happens all the time for certain fans in any big sports market that has 2 teams. Its sad if you don't realize the Ducks have had dedicated fans that have been there from the start, Dave. You have made multiple references about your childish dislike of the Ducks, I used that thought process when I was younger as well. Hopefully one day you will grow out of it.

This is most likely the start of the fire sale so I don't know how this is good for the Ducks.

On multiple occasions I have said you are not in this group.
I DO realize the Ducks have dedicated fans, you are one of them.
I said all of the bandwagon fans... I was specifically talking about bandwagon fans. Not true fans. I didn't say EVERY SINGLE DUCK FAN.
As a dedicated Duck fan, you should know better then anyone how many bandwagon ex-Kings fans your team picked up on your 1st run to the cup. I bet it irked you, too, as one of the loyal fans.
Disliking a team and a percentage of its fans does not make me childish.

As a Kings fan, I was very excited at how weak your defense was looking, especially with the departure of Pronger seemingly inevitable.
Adding a solid puck moving d-man like Whitney is a step forward in my opinion; and while Kunitz is a great player and a great locker room guy, I think it is a fair price to pay.

Every team has bandwagon fans. I grew up as a little kid going to the Kings games before Gretzky. When the Kings picked him up, the Forum was filled with bandwagoners.

I am different then you in that I don't hate either team. I grew up a Kings fan but once Orange County got a team I became a Ducks fan. I do not root against the Kings unless they are playing the Ducks.

And I hate Kings bandwagon fans, too.
Trust me, if this whole youth movement thing works out and the Kings become a playoff team/cup contender, plenty of people will start jumping on the bandwagon and I will be angry at them, too, after all of the years of terrible hockey I've suffered through that they can just stroll in when the getting is good.
Can you blame me for being jealous of the Ducks and their franchise? They come into the league, draft excellently, build the team up, have great playoff success, and win a cup while the Kings float around in mediocrity or suck terribly?

I have no beef with you or blitty, you both are good guys and clearly became fans before the team was excellent.
You have no reason to hate the Kings. They used to be your team, and they have been no real threat to the Ducks since they've been in the league.

That is why I am not convinced the Kings are playoff team/cup contender. They always find a way a fvck things up. Look around the league and look at the team you could have of former Kings players. I have no confidence whatsoever that their leadership will make the right decisions.

Amen, you are preaching to the choir. I have to remain hopeful of course that Dean Lombardi's plan will work... the guy seems sharp, the Kings have a lot of great young pieces in place, and they have looked very good at points this season.
All that said? They are still just mediocre. And I won't believe they can take it to the next level either until they actually do.

Good trade both ways. Whitney is great at moving the puck, although soft in the defensive zone. Kunitz provides leadership, grit, and a legit top 6 winger to play with Sid. And Tangradi is a solid prospect.

Ducks G.M. said Whitney was too good of a defenseman to pass up. Anaheim already has some guys that can score. They need some added toughness. Good trade I think.

Tangradi is more than a solid prospect. This guy will step into the NHL very soon. The guy is putting up solid numbers in the "O". I think Pitt slightly wins this trade. Tangradi is the key to this trade. It's too bad many guys on SBR don't follow hockey closely. No offense (I really mean it), but something I feel as though I am talking to very, very ignorant hockey fans. My fellow Canadian posters know hockey like Plommer, Nicky, Buzzy. I think we should be on the payroll because we can really educate many of the guys that pretend to know what they are talking about.

4-6 teams need to either go away or move to a new market. I've been saying this for over 10 years. League is watered down. Also, the league should force all Canadian Junior, NCAA and European hockey players to play 1 season in the AHL for development purposes. Exceptions can be made to certain players OR NHL teams can dress 1-2 players without minor pro experience.

Kings are about 3-4 years away from being a contender. 2-3 years for my Leafs.

I'd rather 4-6 teams just go away.

Agreed, though the Kings may make the playoffs as soon as next year depending on the offseason they have.
Always liked the Leafs, CuJo was one of my favorite players growing up.
Can't wait to meet you in the finals

I hope your right. I don't claim to know anything about prospects, I get all my info from hockeysfuture.com. But he is putting up those numbers at an advanced age (19), which isn't as impressive, right?
