Bodog sucks. I was hitting a ton of teasers and they seriously stopped my capability of teasing games. I called and complained they told me to F off. I immediately left their piece of Sh*t "book".

Yes, in this option that one point could have been invaluable. It always depends on the matchup, but here I want the point.

I'm glad we got that point also. According to my Iphone app TheScore, the game closed with a pick. So we got lucky 5 dimes gave us that point. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. Good luck everyone.

That is exactly right. The Giants were a push for us....too bad we couldn't have double ended that game.

7-4-1 today, but again all of our losses were 1 unit losses and we won our two 2 unit bets.....so + around 5 units. Smalll compared to the last little while....it is nice when you feel like you had a crappy +5 unit day...lol.

Another nice day D2D...might have to start tailing you. Anyone watching this 4th quarter Lakers game? Portland didn't score for like 5 straight minutes. This is why it's so hard to cap NBA.

lol. ya ive never had me head held low after a +5u night. did you track your roi at all on a month to month basis last season? and is +200% roi a month consistently a rare thing among our kind? im trying to do a better job of keeping track of my accounting this season.

It is so funny. The NBA is the sport that I follow the least (although I follow everything, so that may be misleading) and it is the sport that is my best. I have no idea of the stats, but I bet I hit 800+ games at a 60% clip last year.

To bet the NBA you have to bet the finals....and in fact the healthiest way to do it is to not watch the game....the ebbs and flows are enough to give the bettor a heart attack. Mind you.....I watch the games...lol.

Any winning month is a rarity in this gig. Most people, even pros, lose 10 or more months a year. To even run at 50% is actually good.....these handicappers at the books are SHARP.

My first month last year I turned $250 into something like $4000 starting at $15 bets. ROI per month doesnèt matter....ROI per BET is what is important. If you have a + one....then you are good as gold.

Hey, HigherElement....I see my stats are updated for today and that my record in there was 6-5-1, but in reality it was 7-4-1......

I am wondering how that happened? And can it be avoided in the future? I would not normally be looking back, so I certainly do not want my results to be skewed, either way.

I will do that, but even better I am going to start posting my results, daily and cumulative, all taken from HE's site.....if that is ok with him? I won't post his pretty graphs or anything, or even break downs by sports....so if you want to see that you will need to visit the link.

also, the excel calendar is strange and it counted December 1 as "Week 0." With today, the 2nd as week 1.

D2D mentioned it, but the way that grade selections that occur on the same side or total is that Over 206.5 and over 208.5 on the same game, are separate bets. Two bets on the ML, such as Blackhawks -115 and Blackhawks -118 I combine as a single bet, where I will list the juice and factor in the total units risked, to win the total units per these two bets.

Also, an open note to HigherElement.....frankly, I do not believe that pushes should ever be used to track percentages in Sports Betting. The reason that ties or pushes are used in sports is that you are effectively burning a game that you end up at .500.

My opinion is that a push should be included anytime there are a limited number of statistical attempts to win or lose, ie an NHL of 82 games, a MLB season of 162 game or a handicapping race where each capper has a limited number of attempts to win or lose.

In a situation where there are unlimited attempts....ties or pushes are 100% statistically insignificant.

Just my thoughts.

I can see an argument against including pushes, but at the same time, I challenge your idea that they are statistically insignificant. In reality, winning and losing percentages are numbers that are touted as being more important than they really are--unless you strictly flatbet at -110 and the winning percentage tends to communicate the unit amounts won or lost.

A push is as real of an outcome as a loss or win, especially when betting football and playing 3 or 7. In fact, the potential for a push is the reason that many people would advise you to buy off 3.5 or 7.5. In short, a winning percentage represents your frequency of winning, given the the total outcomes, which includes pushes. If someone were to ask, "What is D2D's winning percentage? Losing percentage? or push percentage?" each answer relies on factoring in the occurence of the others.

I rarely do that. Straight bets are for me, and I usually play the spread UNLESS i really, really like a dog in the NBA. You will see a teaser from me in the NBA occassionally as well.....did really well with them last year.
