Because people who often think in simple terms about the world around them need to use political generalizations to comfort their black and white view of the world while reality shows that the terms "liberal" or "conservative" lost its value a long time ago in American culture.

Isn't this a simplistic view in itself. I have to agree with the "liberal." Ryan has told me before he has no idea what he is. I think if a poll was taken it would be pretty haywire since these terms are now very vague; by no means "black and white."
