This pushing a player penalty is never called. Dan Dierforff said he had been doing games for 20 years and had never seen that call. It had nothing to do with the play. The guy didn't block the kick, it had nothing to do with it.

Then the NFL throws the flag, gives the Jets a free first down and they win the game.

It got ugly

If Folk makes that kick they wouldn't have thrown the flag, but that assumes they don't care who wins. 70%+ of the public was on New England and is crying fix right now BECAUSE IT IS SO BLATANTLY OBVIOUS. A once in a 20 year call, on the final play of the game, and the Jets would have given up the ball near mid-field with the miss and would have lost. But this was the ultimate bail out call.

It was just as ridiculous as the Chargers loss earlier in the year when they called the penalty for hitting the center on a field goal. New rules means players don't know them as well and they are going to get called.

no they weren't Jets was the biggest sharp bet side of the week. You rarely see a line move from 4.5 down to all the way a FG. Sharps were all over the Jets.

The call had nothing to do with the play. Nobody stuck a hand up or blocked a kick. The refs were looking for something. If it wasn't this it would have been something else. It was comical.

You know that was a shit call. There are penalties on every single play in the NFL. There is holding on every single play in the NFL, if they called everything the games would take 9 hours due to penalties, they call a penalty that gives a team AN ADVANTAGE OR A DISADVANTAGE. This is a perfect example of how some games are fixed.

I have literally watched about 50% of the NFL games this year and I have still never seen that call.

I remember a Saints/Falcons game in about 2005 where the guy missed a kick, the refs called some bogus call and then the guy got to rekick it. This shit happens sometimes. Especially when all the bets are on one side.

A defensive player can't jump on the back or propel himself up to block a FG. This used to happen all the time, but they only really called it when the guy propelled himself up and blocked a kick. No block no flag usually.

There is also a rule that you can't push your own guy in the back to stack or have 2 guys pushing forward. They said that the Patriots did that, but they didn't flag them when it supposedly happened, they threw the flag after he missed. That's the shitty part.

plenty of books closed at -3. Line opened at either 4 or 4.5 depending on the book.

This is true, but I think if you are a crooked ref you throw the flag in that situation no matter what and then base your penalty on the result of the kick.
