    12) Barbara Jordan. If you don't know anything about this woman, you should. She passed away far too soon. One of the most distinctive and eloquent voices, as well as voice for ALL PEOPLE, you will ever know and one of my favorites.

Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas in 1972, Barbara Jordan became the first African-American congresswoman to be elected, and re-elected, from the deep South. Before her election to Congress, she was a Texas State Senator, the first African-American woman to serve there.

Jordan captured the attention of the nation during the 1974 Nixon impeachment hearings. As a member of the House Judiciary Hearings she served on the committee charged with hearing and evaluating the evidence bearing on the possible impeachment of then-President Nixon. It was on this committee that her incisive questioning and her impassioned defense of the Constitution made her a respected national figure.

In 1976, Barbara Jordan became the first woman and first African-American to give the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention. In 1978 she announced that she would not seek re-election and returned to Texas as a full professor at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas.

Amby it's good you're compassionate about these types of things.

It was all Blitty's fault....he doesn't understand when you are trying to say something without actually yelling out "We are in the ghetto! there are too many black people around us and we are way too white to be here!"

                        It's a wonderful world in Blitty's head.

"Why should we stop here? Let's keep going."

Those will probably be his last words one day.

I almost got Rogue Juror, Jungle Man and myself killed by walking the wrong way down Ybor. When I started noticing the danger zone (which was probably later than usual), I took their arms and immediately turned them around and walked in the opposite direction. I don't think they have a clue that I saved our lives that night.

                            Incorrect, Robyn.

You was with Juror and Jungle Man.

You saved all those black peoples' lives.

Blitty's motto: "Let's see what happens."
