the pirates and then the O's used to have a big slugger in their farm clubs...

Walter Young, he was 6'5 and listed at 290-320 depending on the year, but pirate scouts said he was close to 350 at one point.....

guy could mash at the lower levels...I think he might have gotten a cup of joe with the O's at one point, but I think he is out of baseball now..

sox last year, had another pirate reject of the name of Brad Eldred he goes about 6'5 265.... but not fat... big whiff machine though, One year for AA altoona he hit close to 20 hr's and had 55+ rbi's in 40 games and 125 ab's or so... after getting promated from high A


Pirates used to love to have future DH behemoths no fielding, huge SO, boppers that couldn't run or field and couldn't hit AAA or MLB pitching.
