Gamblers Anonymous is a joke. Went to ONE meeting about thirty years ago and walked out. Bunch of losers sitting around feeling sorry for themselves, claiming they were clean when I KNEW, KNEW they were all lying about not gambling. From then on I kept a gambling bankroll separate from the family money and it was a piece of cake. SEPARATE GAMBLING ACCOUNT. How difficult is that? Never understood how some gamblers can be so sharp with numbers yet not have the self control and money management to work the bankroll.

Just look at the amount lottery winners who have lost their lottery winnings in Atlantic City or Las Vegas. Read all the winners stories who say they're going to Vegas or Atlantic City and they take the lump-sum. Anyone who wins the lottery and says they are going to gamble big in Vegas is a someone who needs to take an annuity, because they have no financial control. If responsible gambling happened most casinos would be out of business.

Gamblers anonymous and alcohol anonymous does work although you need to stick with the program at least two times per week it is proven to work

The problem lies when the individual leaves the program and thinks he can do it on his own


There is a minority of people that do quit vices on their own but the majority do need need help long-term and weekly

I agree with GA, but AA has turned into a joke because of all the people forced to go to the meetings by law (prison or get-well treatment). My friend got into some trouble with the law went to AA and met up with this girl he goes and parties with now.
