Last year FAR exceeded my expectations. I am very excited for the 2009 bash!!! I do not have any complaints at all from last year. The hours of open bar were unreal, good stuff, hell yeah!!!!! The Crown was a flowing!!!!

You have to have another poker tourny for sure.

The welcome bags, shirts, prizes, dinner, drinks, poker, and time spent with posters was awesome!!

I have absolutely no complaints from last year. The one thing that I would like to possibly have changed is the start time of the poker tournament to late afternoon. After being out at the strip clubs with a few of the bashers and staying up until 10AM, making the poker poker tournament was virtually impossible. I suppose I could try to make it an earlier night this year, but I foresee a repeat of last year...

Keep in mind that joints like the Golden Nugget won't allow really cool stuff like CrazyLou in a dunk tank for insurance reasons. I wanted a boxing ring and a few minutes with JJ Gold after that lawyer crap last year but was shot down.

last year was so good the only improvement i could think of is to maybe have it in a strip hotel, cause downtown sucks except the nugget. there has been a recent rash of robberies of sports book patrons, after cashing tickets at the plaza.

I like the Nugget actually. There is always crime downtown, but there's always crime on the strip too. It's the nature of the beast here, especially with the economic conditions as they stand. Any strip hotel for equivalent pricing is a shithole compared to the Nugget, unless they could get into a place like the MGM or Planet Hollywood for cheap. And maybe they could this year with occupancy rates in the crapper. I thought the Nugget was a perfect fit. You can always hop in a bus, cab, or limo if you wanna hit the strip...

The only thing good about the Plaza is the sportsbook (and only for betting, not for watching a game). Oh, and the soul singers they have on the weekends...

There are a TON of runners on Fremont St. because of the proximity of so many books in such a small area. They often carry a lot of cash on them, so that's probably who is being targeted. I'm sure Metro is all over the case. The last thing this town wants people to be is scared to (or try to) win here.

I have to agree, the Nugget is one of the best values in Vegas, certainly the best on Fremont St.

Like downtown Vegas, much better gambling and casinos are very close to each other. Strip screws you with 6/5 blackjack payout, plus craps has better odds bets. No matter where the bash is held, I'll try and make it down there this summer.

Nugget is the only place I have ever slept in Vegas and I enjoyed each time. I am not a casino guy either so the $2 or $3 BJ tables at 4 Q's next door where nice to kill time. Fremont has a certain 'Home" feeling that I liked. Never stopped anywhere on the strip. It seemed out of my league. I can only attest that each party I was at in Vegas was a good time and suggest that if you can go and wish to go, then go. Memories forever. Betting ponies all day was good enough, and my last trip, I made a point to visit each downtown casino. The party is a must if you can make it.

LOL...I was exhausted and took in some entertainment at The Plaza once. A weak country singer named Dusty Barron. I dubbed him Busty Darron and have mentioned him everyday since.
