hotel advice for vegas

hello gamblers
i havent been to vegas in a decade, i last went and stayed with friends at unlv so i have n o clue about hotels

where do i stay? i want to stay at a hotel with a book, do they all have them? in tahoe and reno they do not all have books if i recall but imay be wrong

any tips would be appreciated

i dont wanna drop over 100 a night on a hotel though

Not sure what your roll is...but I stay at Strat....cheap cheap cheap...but nice stay. $10 taxi ride from all the big boy casinos. Difference of about $150-$250 a night stay vs. the main big boys.

Just the way I do it. Would rather spend my money on other things besides a room I stumble into at 5am and leave at 11am.

Then stay at Strat. Nicest of the shitty strip end hotels for a cheap price. Monkeyfocker might have some info as he lives there....but that would be my advice fo sho.

Stratosphere is really cheap but basically off the strip as its at the very end...although riviera's sportsbook isnt bad and is close and you have the best book in vegas there with the Hilton

Tropicana is cheap and right next to MGM/Luxor/NY NY/Excalibur...I like excalibur and NYNY's books because they arent TOO huge but big enough.

If you get Luxor cheaper than Strat...get it.

Like Maxx says...its not in the main clusterfuk of casinos...but like i say, its a $10 taxi ride. And vegas taxi drivers are entertaining as hell

The imperial palace is kinda of crappy but its right in the middle of the strip ,ceasers and the bellagio right across the street

Luxor is good, affordable, the food court is nice when you are hung over and
don't want to fukk around with buffet lines, etc.

all the books in the large casinos will suit you fine for a weekend. some
of the smaller props who use leroys need some upgrades though

yeah leroys sucks...if you hang in the sportsbook all day at a leroys or other book not owned by the hotel/casino you gotta buy your own drinks too, and if you drink a lot you find yourself in a hole...

I would suggest *not* staying in the south strip (Mandalay, Luxor, Excalibur, NY NY, MGM Grand, Tropicana) if you want to bet sports. You are pretty much stuck with MGM sportsbooks because all the hotels all around there are MGM (except Tropicana, but their book is not very good). You have at least a little more choice if you go further north. OTOH, Harrah's books are crap too. And if you are just there for the weekend maybe you don't care about odds... and otherwise the sportsbook in that area are fine. ESPN Sportszone in NY NY is right next to their book, and is a great place to watch games.

when i was there in november tropicana's book (leroys), which is usually just about a 50 square foot room with 10 tvs and smells like the old smoking lounge at the LV airport, wasnt even open it was just this stand with a guy in the referee outfit standing there taking bets. only thing i like at leroys books that may be at others but i havent noticed are the machines where you can do it yourself. useful if youve got 30 seconds til tipoff and theres a line cause no one uses them

I stayed at the Trump (5 stars) last weekend. Got it on the Priceline.com "name your price" system for $100 per night...plus $15 per day resort fee. The only thing that sucked was they don't have self parking. Always had to use valet. No casino or book in the hotel, but GREAT room.

I have also got the Luxor for $60 using the same system.

the wynn has a book. And yes, definitely the nicest hotel in vegas. I get there about once a year and it never gets old

Use hotwire and put in 4 and 5 stars. You should get something at 100. Just take a car service to where you want to go.

whatever hotel you stay at, go to the pallazo and get their grazie card (players card) and gamble at least a grand (doesn't matter if you win.. just run up the points)..

they'll offer you free suites for 3-4 days.. and they ****en rawk! 3 plasmas.. one in the bathroom! i got one last time i was there and i more offers for 4 nights free for the next 3 months.. and i didn't gamble more than $200 this past time.. they are hurtin' so you will live it up.. and for free!!

just don't touch the mini bar/fridge.. lol
