It's more than golf; its cancer. Phil Mickelson is the guy that always comes so close, but to make a mistake. This time he nailed it and at 43!. His wife and mother had breast cancer at the same time. How can you not like this guy?

I think the knock on Phil with his fellow peers is he is in love with himslef and thinks he knows everything about every topic in the world, he is a typical rich boy at birth and of course an elitist. I guess he can be, he is one of richest athletes of all times.

i happen to know for a fact that phil paid income taxes for a certain player a few years back when the gueys now ex-wife was taking him to the cleaners so i know there are gueys who are very close to him but the bottom line is that most arent

I am genuinely curious, not trying to be a wiseass here. I would like to know some of the guys who don't like him.

I just don't buy him being hated.

It is tough to hate him when you learn of some of the things Mickelson has done WITHOUT a camera on him.

Remember the football player, Conrad Dobler? His wife was paralyzed, guy was on hard times. Mickelson heard about him, then paid for Dobler's daughter's college tuition. And didn't tell a single soul, it was Dobler's daughter who told the media.
