got to watch a corner almost every play to determine if he is good. Stats don't tell too much about corners. Do they pick offensive linemen with stats? stats are over-rated and do not come near to telling the whole story with many positions and especially linemen and corners

That's all well and good, doesn't change the fact that virtually anyone that has watched that amount of football, and I'm referencing nationally respected analysts, not some flakes on ESPN, agree unanimously that Newman is an elite corner when healthy.

Newman is good, but not great. He gets caught looking into the backfield too often, and prone to giving up the big play too often. Although he is a good tackler, and has decent ball skills. Borderline Pro Bowler in most years.

Ray may not help much at all...

In my opinion with my experience in coaching I have noticed that for Linebackers to really be able to do their job they need a SOLID defensive line... If you have a DLine that gets pushed around like Dallas then Ray will be scrapping his own DLinemen off of him while trying to fill the gap to make the play... If the DLine is hard to move like "Goooosse" fat a*s, back in the day, then it's much easier to just fill the gap and make an open field tackle...

              D. Ware is pretty good but the rest need to be replaced...

There has only been one "shut down corner" in NFL history. Deion Sanders. He was only truly "shut down" for maybe 5 or 6 years in the prime of primetime. Quit calling anyone else "shutdown".

Steelers would of gotten rid of Ray Lewis 2 years ago. He is done, alot of talk. Funny thing though, I didn't see either one of them running their mouth after the butt kickin they got. RAVENS SUCK, I hope they stay where they are so the Curtain can continue dominating the division

Okay Ray isn't in the peak of his career anymore. He's still a above average MLB. He's still got the experience the ability to lead and inspire people on the field. He makes plays.

thing with Ray Ray is that at his age...and the number of miles he has on him...... all it takes is for one off-season and he can go from above avg lb to HUGE liability....that is the nature of the NFL....just a small decline or losing half a step is all it takes to not be able to compete anymore. that could come at any moment for Ray. Heck at this point already he has to be near the top ten in all time games played by a linebacker right? that many hits takes its toll. You never know
