PS3 to drop to $299 in April

I disagree ryan... The xbox360 has a much larger game library than the ps3 and it's sports games can't be beat. Most of the sports games were made on the 360 than ported to the ps3 so the graphics are usually better on the 360 as well. If you are into online gaming (all I do) then the 360 is the only box to get. I much rather play basketball, football, etc against a live human opponent versus a computer.

I have all 3 and the Wii is great for entertaining young kids and woman, the PS3 I would get only for the blu-ray as its actually one of the best players on the market. If your into games then it's the 360. You can get used games on the cheap and you can backup games (can't do w/ps3). 360 by far.

It's my understanding it doesn't even come with the blu-ray and online options, you need to get extra stuff for the 360 to have the same features that the PS3 comes with.

I prefer 360 graphics and online depth including # of players online at all times. The only drawback IMO is Gates likes to stay in your pockets.

if you are into movies, but not a huge gamer, then the ps3 is your system. if you are into online, then 360 is your system

if you have a vagina, then wii is for you

What games specifically can you not go online with for PS3, though?

I can get online playing Madden, Tennis, GTA, pretty much every game I own. Then again, I'm by no means a huge video game buff so I'm unaware of which popular games are out there right now which would make the 360 a better sell for some.

Once you go online with Xboxlive you won't want to try online on PS3 again. The 360 does a much better of online playing, finding friends, sending game invites, storing stats, downloadable content, etc. PS3 can't match. Also the 360 seems to play smoother online with much less lag even with the same games.

Some great online games are the 2kSports franchise of MLB2k9, NHL2k9 and NBA2k9.. These are the best in class

Crackdown, Halo3, Rock Band2, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty, Ninja Gaiden, Army of 2, Mass Effect, Guitar Hero, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Left for dead, etc...

The most important thing for someone to do before buying a system is look at the games. If you can find the games that interest you and works well for you then that's the system you should get.

I have the PS3 in my theatre room and use it mainly to playback Blu-ray disc. It is one of the best blu-ray players on the market and has very fast loading times. I have 2 360's and this is the unanimous choice for me in playing games. I have one 360 downstairs and another upstairs in the theatre room as well. I basically only use the 360 for gaming. Right now I mainly play NBA2k9. It's awesome.

I also use both xbox's to stream video from my computer. I download movies online and then using media center you can stream it to your xbox to playback in HD.

That sounds like the perfect fit.

I am building a Blu-Ray collection and I absolutely love Blu-Ray movies, and part of the reason I talked myself into buying a PS3 was for the Blu-Ray playing. I considered it a sound investment on that front alone.

Beyond that, I am hooked on my tennis game now, not impressed with Madden (preferred it on PC before it was discontinued!), I haven't purchased NBA 2K9 because NBA doesn't interest me this year, and I'll definitely be buying the new MLB 2K9 when it hits the shelves.

I don't play many games, only ones that I have reason to believe will interest me, and it seems a bit steep spending $60 on a game you 'might' not like, and I'm too lazy to join Blockbuster.

Ya I mean it's not unprecedented IMO, this is a pretty standard looking controller as far as I'm concerned:

Left/Right top buttons (to move left and right) AND directional arrows to move AND these two toggle things to move, I mean wtf make up ur mind do we use the arrows or the toggles or the buttons I mean geez make up your mind playstation why not add some fukin levers on the side to control direction as well a few ropes and pulleys underneath the remote for climbing and picking up things just to make this more confusing, then 4 freakin buttons I mean I cant even think of 4 things I want to do what is it jump shoot, read a book, jerk off, just retarded how much work playin a fun video game has become back in Nintendo days u popped in the cartridge and u were havin tons of fun right out the gate, now u have to like dedicate hours to this crap to even be able to play them, whats the point they are supposed to be fun action games based on timing and strategy to play now they've become hand puzzles to figure out how to get your character to do what you want him to do instead of it being intuitive and automatic, idk thats my opinion and why I think the Wii has been so popular, most ppl want to play these games for fun not as serious gamers, maybe in 20 years theyll have 50 buttons so no one but 18 hour a day gaming addicts will buy them

299 for the Blu-Ray feature alone is a bargain. Insignia sells a Blu-Ray player for 299 now, and with the PS3, you get a hell of a lot more options.
